Thanks for sharing our article about @CAndersonLab and his team's work!
Cellulose makes plant stems strong; it also makes them difficult to break down for biofuels. @penn_state researchers discovered some of the molecular processes that make breaking it down so hard. It can help us find ways to overcome these roadblocks: psu.edu/news/eberly-college-…

I actually think Miriam’s point is a massively understated one. These journals have capitalized on the “hand-me-down” approach to snatch up manuscripts that otherwise would fit right in at society journals. The cost is less resources for societies that reinvest in members 😢
Nature Comms is a tributary of Nature. Its source is authors’ need to publish in high impact journals. Before it was created, in the mold of plos-one, many of these papers might have been published in non-profit journals run by professional societies.

Progress isn’t always about getting better. Sometimes it’s about bouncing back. Success is not only the peaks you reach—it’s the valleys you conquer. Every experience of enduring adversity and overcoming obstacles is a meaningful accomplishment.   Resilience is a form of growth.

Congratulations Zhou lab! What a wonderful way to start your independent career!
The 1st paper from my lab is online! We used mass spec proteomic analysis combined with super-resolution (i.e., STORM) imaging to determine the interactome of the membrane-associated periodic skeleton (MPS) structures discovered in neurons using STORM.🔬 nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

Very glad to see this exciting preprint published! A great gift for the New Year. Cryo-CARE denoising does a fantastic job to visualize the tips of growing microtubules. Flared morphology is now observed with a new level of detail. doi.org/10.1101/2021.12.29.4…
