“Like a Phoenix”
— a hapifüngüs original
I had to step away for some time because everything was so toxic. And I didn’t know how to process any of the emotions that piled up within me. So I chose to do what I’ve always done whenever the world becomes too heavy: write a song.
This was written in the POV of someone who has received lots of undeserved online hate, and was gaslighted into thinking that the circumstances don’t really exist or didn’t matter; even when this person is slowly dying inside.
It’s a journey of self reflection and healing. There is a distinction that the person made the choice to walk in this direction, and they realized that they still exist in their own circle that is full of love and appreciation. Sometimes, they can’t help wish they’ll just leave them alone, but choosing this path meant that the haters will always exist.
Even then, like a phoenix, they’ll rise up from the ashes where they burned.
ANYWAY, it’s just me projecting MY OWN feelings to serve as my form of catharsis. So it does not represent anyone’s truth.
I will probably make a full band version of this soon.

Somehow, i feel more burnt out by this one 8-5 job than my 9-3 job before with 3 part times on the side
I mean as someone who had totally NO experience, knowledge or background in this new field I’m working at, I feel like I’m doing an excellent job? But because of the dismissive attitude of my workmate, it’s like I’m never doing enough even though for my standards, I’m even impressed with what I was able to do?
“Oh ingat baka lumaki ulo”
Can’t I appreciate my accomplishments? 😭😭😭
Huh. Just realized one reason why i feel drained is because my workmate is just so dismissive of my accomplishments
I used to be someone who would always downplay my skills so i had a severe inferiority complex and impostor syndrome because my skills were normalized as average but therapy helped my realize that i needed to celebrate every small step that i accomplished to appreciate myself more
This environment just does not believe in any self-appreciation, and would focus more on mistakes rather than celebrate small success

🐯: we’ve been together for almost four years.. i think time really passes by so quickly. is it because we’ve been together since i started as a trainee, that’s why you’ve become so important to me? our personalities are so different so we’ve argued a lot, but i think it only made you more precious and also brought us closer. let’s be together for the rest of our lives. happy birthday🎉🥳
