Finally finished the Red Rising series, now extremely sad I'll have to wait a year + for the final book. Anyone got any recommendations that are similarly good?

If you'd have told me two years ago that Binance and Polymarket were hacked on the same day I'd have guessed BTC would be down 25% plus

There are experts in open source trying to break cryptography with frontier models and their specific knowledge. You just don't hear about this over the daily panicons.

not only am i not worried about the crypto community's ability to handle the upcoming ai/quantum threat, i will venture to say that in the next 2 yrs the world will realize crypto is far better prepared for it than the rest of the internet and finance. we've had a trillion dollar *irreversible* honey pot for a decade, producing a far more battletested system and adversarial security culture than pretty much anywhere else on earth.

Kind of amusing timing that I’d planned to write an article this week on how Bitcoin and ZEC likely end up as the only remaining human controlled truly scarce assets in the universe.
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10. Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years. Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

The communist attitude just completely baffles me. When I was younger I’d see rich and successful people and try to figure out how to emulate them, not steal from them.

So once you’ve confiscated the wealth, and the productive have left, and services continue to decline, what do you do then? When the riots keep happening and the demands keep increasing?
If I was Prime Minister , if I was Burnham , watching European cities ablaze . . . I’d instigate a ‘wealth tax’ at about 9.01am tomorrow morning . Just saying . Or should we just ‘eat cake’ ?

I kind of view these two areas as salary vs wealth generation. You can be glued to a screen 14 hours a day and make a salary in crypto (harder than it used to be) and if you look away for an hour you might lose six months wages. Or, you can just buy one or two things you believe in and literally log off for a few years and make infinitely more money if you're correct.
One of the most mentally challenging things about crypto is the need to mentally switch from ultra short termism on things that are bad but profitable to participate in to being ultra long term on things that are incredibly good but the market needs time to digest.

I think this is the truly magical thing about Elon, he pushes the bar so high that everyone else is forced to think so much bigger than they currently are. Those that meet that bar succeed and those that stagnate die.
Replying to @benroy
I've been watching the clips on repeat for like 20 minutes and I don't think you can exaggerate how much of an impact this has on raising other people's ambition >Every competent person out there watches this and says to themselves holy shit it's time to lock in

Tesla roadster is unfathomably cool. So grateful to live in an era where companies like tesla and spacex are pushing the boundaries of engineering.

On a long enough time horizon if gold becomes mineable on asteroids, or can be lab generated, then bitcoin becomes the scarcest asset in the universe, assuming human designed currencies hold a premium over future AI developed ones.

Also think the inevitable death of fiat currency’s comes when we make the leap into becoming multi planetary, probs in the next 50 years. Don’t see a world in which current nation states are able to claim and hold other planets without private companies / individual groups taking over and running them themselves. Why would you want the US dollar if Mars is 95% controlled by SpaceX or something?
