The majority of Joint Consolidation Loan borrowers have served as public servants for over 20+ yrs but still can't receive PSLF bc you won't separate our loans. Pls work quickly to fulfill your promises before the new admin keeps us locked in as indentured servants for life.

20 yrs ago Pell grant recipients & 1 gens were targeted by FFEL lenders to consol into Joint Consol loans that they knew Congress was eliminating, locking them into lifetime unreg loans. We got a law to make it right in '22 but @SecCardona hasn't done a thing. #indentured4life

I'm as American as being taught that when a bill becomes a law, it actually gets executed by the person identified in the law as responsible but here I am 2 yrs later with nothing. Maybe, we should be honest w/our students abt how the US system really works & use you as example.

We have a JCSL & have LONG since paid the principal. But now I am “NOT OK & asking for help”because my loans aren’t separated and I see our opportunity to receive PSLF sliding away. We’ve been public servants for 26 years. We honored PSLF rules, paid our debt: HONOR the waiver!

I’d like to thank @MarkWarner for all his, and his staffers help bringing Joint Consolidated Spousal Loans to a near end. Today the application to separate was released and we are one more step closer to being free.

708 days ago President Biden signed PL117-200 into law. For 708 days we’ve continued 2 suffer, waiting 4 @usedgov applications for separation. Depressing and frustrating. Now some servicers like @SLOANSERVICES r refusing 2 renew admin. forbearance. Get the apps out! @SC_DoUsPart

I am tied to my former spouses student loans even though our divorce was 18 years ago. The law was passed 2 years ago to allow me to separate my loan from his, and the Department of Education has not implemented the law. Rage? Anger? All of the above.

Also the only way anyone can get out from underneath Joint Spousal Consolidation Loans. I was able to divorce my former spouse, but I am still responsible for his loan. Until death do us part thanks to the Department of Education. @SC_DoUsPart

I was a college student over 20 years ago, and I am still suffering the consequences of a broken student loan system. I am a JCL borrower who has paid $65k when I borrowed $24k. I still owe $50k. @SC_DoUsPart

And yet you've failed to implement legislation that allows Joint Loan Borrowers the ability to separate. Several of those stuck in these loans are tied to former abusive spouses. They are paying their own and their former spouse's share.

Please get the JCLSA application out now. Teachers are counting on the DOE to keep their promise. Two years to wait is way too long.

You mean except for those of us that cannot separate our Joint Loans, even though we got a law passed in 2022? Why not focus on getting the law implemented instead of kicking the can down the road? @SecCardona @theSBPC @SC_DoUsPart
