why does my entire feed feels like the end of internet as we know it. is it really this easy to bypass everything: node js, railway, eMudra, like literally everything?
I relate to this a lot.
a lot of my process for exploring any kind of design has changed from “making the design” to “making the tool that makes the design”
the concept of building throwaway toolkits for every small variable in your design is still insane to me.
I knew this was million views worthy. glad it got there. very satisfied.

hot take from a small mind:
everyone keeps talking about “what’s the moat now” but a moat only matters once there’s a castle. you can’t defend what doesn’t exist yet. so start with what you already know: your skills, your taste, your context. build something real from that.
become worthy of a moat first
david has built a cult. just look at the replies, man.
btw, i’m one of them
I’m building something around productivity, and if it works, it’ll become your daily plugin inside chatgpt and codex. I’d bet on it.
if you’ve read the elon tweet, read this also.
bro there are too many levels to this game. damn!!!

They will soon also post "Modi haar gaye, Elon ke samne juk gaye" when news of a technical approval of Starlink comes. Which MEITY or even PMO can't override now because they are already in the last stages of getting approved, along with Jio and Airtel's services.
The amplification of this is being done now exactly for this. There's no reason for Elon to start doing this now and RG to engage with it other than a psyop to rile up and disillusion Modi's base and help opposition when the news breaks.
the peer pressure to build a new portfolio is worse than the pressure to take drugs in my teenage years
working on new marketing blocks design and I kept running into one specific problem:
a lot of the web ref I liked had motion, so they wouldn’t import properly into pen canvas which I need for study the layout, interactions and overall design thinking
so built a small tool that serves the ref website on a localhost after triggering all the reveal animations, freezing everything in its final visible state, and removing the js
we really are in the era of personal throwaway softwares
bro how did I not know? he ran godly

It can be like that man. Back when I used to run Godly it got to a point where I didn't update it for over a year.

I was on the Docs team 15 years ago. The rewrite (from Writely to the new OT-based editor) had just launched. We were facing an enormous list of features we lacked that prevented enterprises (and some consumers) from using us. I think we didn't even have inherited text styles at that point. Markdown was so far down the list compared to absolute basic editor functionality. Plus there were some reasonable arguments against it, like "the 'spec' is some guy's webpage"
The thing that stopped it for the next 5 years (which was how long I was on the team) was that the Word <-> Docs conversion service was a separate team based in Sydney called Changeling. Having literally opposite work hours made it difficult to coordinate with them, plus it made it easy for the I-don't-want-Markdown-in-Google-Docs crowd to just say "obviously Markdown conversion should be handled by this other team that's really difficult to coordinate with," which was a really effective way to shut it down in favor of things that would better help them game promotion.
I don't have any insight into why they finally started prioritizing it a few years ago, but my guess is that they started losing contracts to Notion which is a lot more Markdown-native
