For last 24 hours I’ve seen footage of horrific scenes from Gaza, just absolute human misery. Yet..it’s not there on any news outlet’s home pages, not discussed on our witless political shows. We’re just going to ignore it? Is that the plan?

Victims need confidence that the justice process is fair and based on evidence, not myths and false assumptions about trauma.
I am calling for the Courts and Tribunals Bill to require judges to address rape myths when directing juries in every rape trial theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

Nice to see so many “Stop The Boats” women and children protectors, now very upset that Russell Brand got a guilty verdict.

Russell Brand is going to prison.
May all the rapists today feel a little less safe.

In the spirit of woke, I just wish and hope the #MeToo movement makes a comeback. There’s an urgent need to hold abusers and rapists accountable

My deepest respect goes to the victims + survivors of Russell Brand ❤️ They’ve done a service for women everywhere. I followed the trial closely and can’t imagine how hard it was for them and the courage they have.
More victims have come forward. The guilty verdicts are seismic.

Thinking of the survivors who suffered and watched Russell Brand thrive for years in an industry that protects and rewards monsters like him.

Russell Brand is now a convicted rapist. Understandably, the focus will be on the man himself and what he’s done, but today I’m thinking of the women who came forward. Having gone through a rape trial myself, I know just how much strength is required. Today, they’re my heroes.

Living standards don't have to fall. We could do things differently (and better).

Oh look the French government has been forced to concede to the protesting students.
Who woulda thought that revolting actually works

In years of genocide
hope came from the young
In Serbia
2 yrs of youth-led protest -integrity, unity, perseverance- brought change
Today that hope is a rainbow
its far end in Brazil
May it shine
wherever wounds run deep
and the young are fighting the old
Humanity will prevail

Seven years ago, Lula was in prison serving an unjust conviction.
Today, he is the re-elected president of Brazil.
In 2018, he said “there is no point in trying to end my ideas, they are already lingering in the air”.
Lula’s ideas don't just linger. They live!
Viva Lula!

Brazil has just delivered something the world desperately needed: proof that the authoritarian wave is neither unstoppable nor irreversible. Bolsonarism was defeated, despite the political pressure coming from Trump's America. And the Amazon, once again, has a fighting chance.

Buried on page 30 of 'Sir' David Bellend's report into antisemitism in schools in the UK it explicitly says there hasn't been a rise in antisemitism, only in anti-Israel sentiment. Astonishingly fraudulent crisis/debate, all to shield a genocidal state

Happy birthday to Ursula K. Le Guin. "We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings."

when i was a healthcare assistant in the NHS, if you had a shift the night the clocks went back, you worked an extra hour but you didn't get paid for it
so i guess i'll probably use the extra hour getting angry about wage theft
