Are you headed to #NCTE24 next week? I’ll be there and always happy to chat book writing and publishing with teachers. We need more teacher voices out there in the 🌎.

Yes! Let’s hope the national curriculum review is heeding all the many people with primary education expertise who know that the teaching of reading, and writing, needs to change!
This is an absolute must-read by the brilliant @DamsonEd! Some of us have been trying to make these points for a long while, especially about reading being more than decoding, and meaning being more than words in isolation from text.

Does anyone have any current research on digital literacy and critical thinking instruction at the elementary/primary level they are jazzed up about? #educationalresearch #research #teaching #school

#G2Great community come over to BlueSky
Bluesky was an offshoot of Twitter, which is why Bluesky looks so much like Twitter, and in this sense, it is the most logical successor to the app, given that it is, essentially, Twitter, run by former Twitter staff, and most closely represents what Twitter had been. #twitter

My students love morphology and then thinking of other words to add to the list.
MORPHOLOGY MONDAY! November 11 is Veterans Day in the US & Remembrance Day in the UK, Canada, Australia & other Commonwealth nations! Thus, this week’s Morphology/Word Root Resource focuses on the word roots SERV/SERVAT which mean to "keep or save." Saluting all who have served!

Everyone should take moment to read this and get informed. There is so much happening to our youth if you’re an educator, a parent, or a person invested in humanities future, Start following people like Jean Twenge and Jonathan Haidt. READ their books.

This made my day for a few reasons: 1) Someone read one of my threads.😂Thanks, algorithm! 2) Some folks I really respect LIKED one of my threads! Thanks @learningandtheb! There's lots of stuff to read out there, but I'd maintain that Andrew's blog at L&tB should top your list!
Our blogger frequently writes that teachers should study research not to "do this thing" but to "think this way." Check out this EXEMPLARY thread by @SteveChiger on how to THINK ABOUT distractions in the classroom: ow.ly/wsMV50T5S2V
