Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign message is NOT resonating with black voters in Detroit.
El-Sayed is banking on that voting block in Michigan, but from what these voters are saying on the ground, that’s far from guaranteed.
One voter even admitted he’s a lifelong Democrat who’s crossing party lines to vote for Republican Mike Rogers.
VOTER: “It’s a first time thing because I’ve been Democrat forever. So yeah, I’m switching Republican now.”
Keep in mind, black voters in Detroit REJECTED El-Sayed during the Democrat primary — he received just 31% of the vote against Haley Stevens.
He lost Detroit outright to Stevens by 28 points.
If Rogers can secure even a portion of that vote, it could spell MAJOR trouble for El-Sayed next week.
Democrats seem to think black voters will fall in line no matter who they put forward.
But that’s not the case with this race.

BASH: “You're still fully behind Abdul El-Sayed?”
STEVENS: “Look, I'm on the Democratic ticket. I can't say that I agree with everything that's gone on… I'm looking to be on the team to support my next governor Jocelyn Benson, and frankly these great Democrats who are working their tails off, who are going to make Hakeem Jeffries the first black Speaker of the House.”
BASH: “You didn't mention Abdul El-Sayed in that last answer.”
STEVENS: “Well, look, I would just say, you had asked me if I'm still on the team, I'm on the team.”
Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed reacted on Wednesday to news that the fiancé of Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) intends to vote for the GOP Senate candidate Mike Rogers, telling CBS News' @aaronlarnavarro "there are always going to be some folks who have different opinions, and they're welcome to that."
"If folks see another issue that is more important to them and decide that their disagreement with me on that is bigger than their disagreement with me on all these other things, that is their choice," he said.

Haley Stevens on voting for Abdul El-Sayed:
"I still very much want our Democratic nominee, his name is Abdul, to win this race. There is so much on the line. But I will be honest, there are a lot of voters in Michigan, I was out knocking doors earlier today, and they are still undecided and they are hurt and they are confused..."

Former President Barack Obama jokes about his love for The Cheesecake Factory after claiming Trump took issue with his comparison of the White House to "Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory."
"I am the father of two daughters. Do you think I could have survived their childhood without going to the Cheesecake Factory?"
Trump has defended the renovations, saying the new ballroom will replace temporary event tents used during previous administrations, including Obama's.
"If you don't have a relationship with Black people, it's cool, just own it."
@PlanetTyrus calls out Abdul El-Sayed over a campaign video filmed at a barbershop, questioning whether the visit reflects genuine outreach to Black voters or a staged political moment.
"'I don't know you guys, but I want to work with you guys' would go a lot further than slowing down everyone's day at the barber shop."

A Philly cheesesteak in exchange for a guilty plea?
Florida murder suspect Robert Kessler, 74, tells a judge he’ll accept a life sentence if he gets a cheesesteak, fries and a Pepsi first.
The judge rejects the unusual offer, explaining that food cannot be exchanged for a guilty plea.
Kessler is accused of killing and dismembering a 47-year-old woman whose remains were found in a Florida bay in 2021.
