I’m 100% convinced that PFF brainrot is a detriment to fanbases.
Replying to @BrooksAustinBA @BigOrangeRusty
3.79 seconds avg time to throw. An ETERNITY in the SEC.
There obviously were OL breakdowns but Faizon caused over half his sacks & pressures because he didnt trust his eyes & the playcall.
All those spiked throws? Different sympton, same sickness.

Yep, SWE here, this is spot on.
Gen AI is the issue, e.g. ChatGPT, as it wastes scarce resources and can only regurgitate training data!
Not local, assistive, algorithmic machine learning models, e.g. Claude, which use renewable resources and help you automate repetitive tasks!

I worry that even schools with big money will sign guys who will impress their big donor boosters in May, June, July, and August but don’t contribute to winning in February and March. 4 million for a marginal NBA PG prospect. Are you that stupid?
Tony White, @Vol_Hoops Hall of Famer and one of the best to play at Tennessee, said it best about the exodus of transfers from the program. “These cats want to get a million dollars averaging 4 to 6 points. Back in the 80s, I could’ve gotten 8 million averaging 24 a game.” #Wiz
A lot of these decisions are not so much basketball decisions as they are financial decisions. Some of these guys would have been asked to take on different roles or even less money. Can’t blame players for trying to cash in by getting in the portal. That’s just where we are now in college sports. But Tennessee under Rick Barnes has gone to three straight Elite Eights and four straight Sweet 16s with different players and coaches coming and going. Don’t see that changing, as Tennessee will give him the money he needs to bring in more proven scorers and players who value playing in a proven program.
NEW: Tennessee forward Jaylen Carey plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, @JoeTipton reports.

Interesting how those who have never coached… or been in charge of a program… know what’s best for those who actually do coach and do run programs 🤷🏻

Tennessee has almost always played to its potential in the tournament under Barnes. But sometimes he doesn't get enough credit for the other 364 days he's running the program because even though there's no good tournament exit, the Vols' are almost always crushing.
Two ways to win games:
1. Shoot better
2. Shoot more
The obvious goal is to be an efficient team, but at a level where players are naturally inefficient, rebounding, forcing turnovers, and taking care of the ball sets an absurdly high performance floor
Such as 4 straight S16s
4 of the E8 teams are top 5 in OREB%, 7 of the E8 teams are top 50 in OREB%
5 of the E8 teams are top 30 in average height, 7 of the E8 teams are top 45 in average height.
6 of the E8 teams are top 30 in offensive 2PT%
6 of the E8 teams are top 50 in second chance points
5 of the E8 teams are sub 200 in offensive tempo
Only 2 of the E8 teams are top 100 in 3PA rate.
