Seeing so many tweets of people paraphrasing "what would happen to you in Iran" as "you'll get raped in Iran" means that the plight of Iran women with the morality police really DID reach them but they chose to support what would give them the most woke points on western soil
being considerate of inconsiderate ppl does not get anyone anywhere. it won’t save you extreme inconvenience or resentment. it doesn’t teach them to show up better. humans *need* consequences to repeated actions. grace is for ppl that learn from them.

There is a school of thought (I'm not expert enough to pronounce on the baseline accuracy) that the OG puritans of the 16th century were proto-feminist in the sense that they imposed a degree of sexual restriction on men that was unusual in the Western context at the time. They were also relatively opposed to double standards with regard to sexual conduct. It's not surprising that women were central in shaping and transmitting puritan moral culture, and it's difficult to shake the impression that many modern, nominally post-feminist women keep rediscovering the 'restrain the excesses of male sexuality' feature of puritan ethics from first principles.

They were literally shipping A & 3 at that concert while Boom was right there? & people were saying Boom was seen leaving in tears? I genuinely dk what to say.
Boom, I’m so sorry. You didn’t deserve any of this. Take me with you wherever you’re going. 💔

Good morning: As we tweet about reparations for slavery and the Atlantic slave trade. Grok is dumb, let's read historians of Africa. Below three MUST-READ BRILLIANT books by two GOAT historians: Walter Rodney & Toby Green (and give him a follow @toby00green) #slaveryarchive

Teka lang, parang napunta na naman tayo sa debate tungkol sa quality ng Apple products. Nobody is questioning whether Apple makes good products. Ang linaw naman ng sinabi ko na I'm all for giving our teachers better equipment. That was never the issue.
My point is about the bigger picture - the procurement, the overall cost, transparency, and whether this was the most cost-effective choice for public funds. Mapupunta ba talaga ang mga units na ito sa mga guro? Paano pinili ang mga beneficiaries? Aling schools ang makakatanggap? What safeguards are in place to ensure proper distribution, actual use, maintenance, and accountability?
These are legitimate questions when we're talking about billions in taxpayers' money. Hindi naman sapat na maganda ang produkto. We also need to know whether the program is being implemented properly and whether our teachers and students will actually benefit from it.
So DepEd is spending an estimated ₱7.4 BILLION for 172,654 Apple MacBook Neo units at approximately ₱43,000 each. That's a massive amount of taxpayers' money, and I have A LOT questions.
For context, the MacBook Neo currently starts at around ₱49,990 in Apple's Philippine store. DepEd says its ₱43,000 procurement price includes five-year warranty, productivity tools, logistics and training. Okaym, fair enough. BUT! A big BUT - was the MacBook Neo really the most cost-effective option for the government's requirements? Were other brands and specifications considered? Was this the best value taxpayers could get for that budget????
At sino nga ba talaga ang makikinabang? DepEd says 169,008 units are for teachers and 3,646 for administrative officers. Paano ang pagpili sa mga recipients? Which schools will receive them, and how will the department ensure that these devices will actually be used to improve teaching and learning?
During Sara Duterte's tenure as DepEd Secretary, around ₱9 billion worth of ICT equipment and laptop packages intended for schools remained undelivered in 2023. Are we looking at another ambitious government program that will struggle with actual implementation????
Hindi naman ako tutol sa pagbibigay ng quality equipment sa ating mga guro. They deserve better tools and resources. But ₱7.4 billion is no small amount. Nasaan ang transparency sa procurement? Sino ang winning bidder? Magkano ang approved budget? What alternatives were evaluated?
