I have a campaign live now and we are about halfway to our first goal to get @KellyShmo a steam deck! Kelly has stage 3 breast cancer and is undergoing treatment, chemo and a procedure in June. (THIS IS NOT FOR MEDICAL)-- Everything donated goes towards first getting her a @valvesoftware @OnDeck Steam Deck so she can play her comfort games during chemo, at home feeling sick after chemo, and post major surgery recovery in June.
🚨(If you saw my previous post about a very generous human getting her one himself from ebay- he ended up getting scammed. He was refunded and donated the money already to the campaign like the angel he is!)🚨
This is all fundraising by gamers, for a gamer going through hell and needing a distraction!
Anything raised after the steam deck can be ordered will go directly to Kelly for other comforts she may need (battery packs, games, a fluffy blanket if she wants it- anything that brings joy or comfort during this very difficult battle).
I will be posting regular updates, along with shouting out people who have contributed.
🚨HUGE SHOUT OUT TO THESE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE WHO HAVE GOTTEN US HALFWAY THERE-

We've had so much of our focus on new content that we've been much too slow to react to fundamental issues within the core experience like this.
We have a strong path to improving this now, but have to reassess how we are working as a team to rebuild that trust with our players.

We lost someone pivotal to the SOT community. Mica was more than a player: she was a friend, crewmate, advocate, and mother to many. I’m honored to have known her and will carry her legacy while supporting her family. Please join us in honoring her.
For Mica. Always💜

Cancer really has me doing things I hate like eating vegetables, answering the phone all day every day, and now asking for help 😣 even if you aren’t able to help by donating, sharing is also a great way to help me. #fuckcancer
