#portfolioday is here again so time to update this pinned My name is James and I'm a comic artist (currently working on my series @circuitscomic) and character designer! I also have animation experience
I enjoy robots tbh
I feel so dumb
I basically had the "make HDR look like shit" option enabled on my TV this whole time (HDR+ if you have a Samsung TV)
Thanks to Forgotten Island (and the new projectors at my work indirectly) making me realize
Appropos of nothing, we need more LGBTQ stories precisely so we can rightly judge them on their quality and not have to defend subpar projects just because it's representing us and it's "all we have"
When we have our choice, that's when it's easier to be subjective about quality
There are movies I wish I could have seen with a crowd
Based on clips I've seen of other people's showings, You Can See Everything isn't one of those movies.
I'm so glad that I was able to actually sit with the movie. I'm not saying the documentary isn't funny, just not "LOL"
My favorite thing about YCSE was realizing almost immediately what was gonna happen after a certain point, knowing Nathan's work and sitting in anticipation for it (trying to be vague but if you've seen it you absolutely know what point)
I can finally unmute these having finally seen it (even if the mute function here basically doesn't work here)
debating whether I wanna do a double feature tomorrow with the new LAIKA movie and that Elizabeth Holmes doc but I feel like a combo that wild would be too much.
i work at a theatre so it's like "you can see everything!" but its also just a matter of the time in a day
I need Velina and want Phoenix but I'm so fucking scared
Statistically speaking I'm probably gonna lose this next 50-50
i finally saw our theatre's new projectors in action and god they're so pretty
2 of the auditoriums aren't keystoned (?) right yet but that's a simple fix I assume.
I would watch Forgotten Island a 4th time but this many times too close together is too much lol
Tried to do my 2026 ranking but the majority of my logs are 4*+ so it's really rough to actually put them in order
I haven't watched enough movies this year though so I could split it up into my top middle and bottom 10 (33 new releases logged so far)
A guy who doesn't care about OneyNG having sex with a 17-year-old but DOES have strong feelings about how he doesn't care about the new Resident Evil movie and how he just wants "a good movie based on the games"
It's by twist of fate that my main movie theatre would finally be upgrading to laser projectors a week after losing Forgotten Island
Huge shame but an upgrade is an upgrade
Two good movies in a row (They Will Kill You and Buddy), sort of want to mix it up and watch a movie I'm not sure I'll like or to keep up the streak
