We are in a crisis and this is a difficult clip to watch. What is going on in Glasgow. Disgusting to hear the influence Saudi Arabia are having on important parts of negotiations #cop26 @TheElders @SkyNews
An emotional Mary Robinson, Chair of @TheElders and former President of Ireland slams leaders for not being in crisis mode and blames Saudi Arabia for blocking @skynews #COP26 Today will be very important.

Today I’ve had the chance to reflect on the first couple of days at #COP26 and, like many, I’m conflicted by what I’ve seen.
As @LaurenceTubiana said in a session it really does feel like the tale of two cities. A tale of inspiration but also one of frustration (see comments) 1/2

My hope from Glasgow is to make the possible a reality.
@jrockstrom “1.5 degrees from an earth science perspective is still possible, but not probable from a social science perspective”
🤞 #COP26 negotiations bring the ambition & honesty required to generate the change we need

Positive news to start the day. This commitment covers 85% of our planet’s forests. Trees are the lungs of our earth and we must protect them. On Saturday I’ll be attending an event at @COP26 about monitoring the health of forests from space with @NCEOscience @esa and others 🌎🌳

Carbon offsetting is a controversial topic and rightly so. However, if done well it forms an important part of climate action.

Good news! UK won’t rush into US trade deal that would risk our food standards, our planet and our health.
We still need promises in law – to make sure they can’t be broken.
RT to tell @tradegovuk they’re doing the right thing holding out for a better deal #DontTradeOurPlanet
Great to part of this important initiative to ensure that the Amazon is not put under even greater pressure 🌳 🌎 💚
Now is not the time to vote on a bill that could speed up the destruction of the #Amazon.
