2:47am. your meta accounts are still spending and nobody's watching. that's when roas drifts and an account quietly burns budget while you sleep. you see it at 9am, after the damage is done. meta answers when you ask. advino watches when you don't. advino.app

Soon it'll be 99%. And social media platforms will do nothing about it because humans will eat it up with pleasure. AI slop avatars will be sexier, talk better, do crazier things than any human ever will. The content will subjectively be more entertaining and addictive. Humans will love it. Just like we love movies knowing it's all fake and scripted. Human creators will become one category of the social web. Just like Reality TV is one category on Netflix alongside Anime and Thrillers. I'm no fan of it, but this is the world we're heading into.

A card declined at 2am, and by morning the client was gone. A $4,500/day account. The card on file declined sometime after midnight. Meta retried, then quietly throttled delivery to protect itself. By 9am the monthly budget was burned, performance had cratered, and the client's CFO had already emailed asking what happened. Nobody was watching. That is the actual problem. Meta doesn't call you when your account breaks at 2am, and you're asleep. This is the exact thing I built Account Shield for. It checks your accounts every 5 minutes for billing failures, delivery collapses, spend spikes and policy hits, and when it catches one it pauses the high-spend ad sets for you. With your approval, before the client ever notices. It's Meta-only for now, and the writes are approval-gated rather than autopilot. But the account stops breaking quietly overnight. What's the worst overnight ad account disaster you've walked into in the morning? #metaads #dtc #paidsocial #ecommerce #mediabuyer

shipped a change to creative scoring this week and the hard part wasn't the model. it was deciding what "good" even means. v1 graded every ad against a global benchmark. a 2.1% ctr looked fine, so the ad stayed live. but that account's own winners ran at 3.5%. against its own history the ad was already dying and we couldn't see it. rebuilt it to grade each creative against the account's own past performance instead. now a "fine" ad that's down 40% from where it usually lands gets flagged as a fading winner. the case that made me do it: a winning video's ctr fell ~40% over six days. account spent ~11k against the dead version before anyone caught it. averages hide the exact thing you need to see. the signal is in the gap between a number and its own recent past.

Unpopular opinion: chasing a higher ROAS is quietly making your account worse. Here's the trap. You optimize toward the ROAS number on the dashboard, and Meta is happy to help, because the cheapest way for it to show you a high ROAS is to credit itself for people who were going to buy anyway. Retargeting, warm audiences, branded lookalikes. The number climbs. You feel good. You move budget toward it. What actually happened is you defunded the part of the account that finds new customers, because cold prospecting will never post a ROAS as pretty as retargeting does. The blended number looks fine for a month. Then new-customer volume quietly dries up, the whole thing stops scaling, and nobody can explain why. The ROAS you're optimizing toward isn't a goal. It's a scoreboard Meta gets to keep. Optimizing harder against it just makes you better at a game that was rigged to look good. The fix isn't a better dashboard. It's checking the reported number against what actually landed in the bank, and judging new-customer acquisition on its own instead of hiding it inside a blended ROAS that retargeting is propping up. Quote the bank number. Fund the cold traffic. The boring version is the one that still scales in Q4.

there are ~40 ways a meta ad account can quietly die. billing, policy, pixel, pacing, delivery. most of them happen overnight and you find out from the client. I wrote the full list down.

Your ad account died at 2:47am. meta sent nothing worth reading. you found out at 9:30, from the client. advino checks every account every 15 minutes, all night, and acts before the client notices. one month free, no card. the night shift is on. advino.app
