An exhibition on eBay? Yes.
And like a lot of my work, when site plays a part in the work I make it site-specific.
My favorite part of today: small conversation with @briandroitcour @pixelpete @cutsdatflo and a couple of others about taste, criticality, and making and evaluating art. Huge thanks to Brian for hosting.
Find me in Marfa! ⭐️
made it to Marfa in one piece with @heyneff 💀
shout out @artblocks_io 🎨 👾
While a lot of my work is natively digital, I get deep satisfaction from making physical works

Livestreamed right here on X.
Justin makes for a great conversation because of his extraordinary (not being hyperbolic) experience and thoughtfulness. Highly recommend a coffee, cocktail, or walk with him. He’s been in my backyard and I haven’t taken enough advantage.

I'm touching down in NYC for the week if any New York internet friends have suggestions or want to meet up.
Busy work has kept me sadly X quiet lately but I have some fun art things simmerimg under the surface.
Love to talk about art, ai policy, grantmaking or anything else.
Going to start a thread of notes on this:
Outside Lies Magic: Regaining History and Awareness in Everyday Places by John R. Stilgoe. 1998.
Friday night reading based on a recommendation from my conversation with @Rrose_Selavy_11 during her space with @absurdeity and @August35750182. 👀
Standards create alignment and define shared opportunity. Who has knowledge of the standards and has access to the information created the old startup “unfair advantage.”
Second order effects. Feels highly relevant 30 years after this book was published and 100 years after the time Stilgoe describes. I wonder how much the organizations affecting change are thinking about second- and third-order effects and employing folks (especially designers) who naturally think further forward.
I’m really tempted to post the entire text of the first chapter. It’s such a good introduction to the philosophy behind Stilgoe’s teaching and writing that it feels like it’s worth bending the rules around copyright in service of getting more folks exposed to how he thinks and read more of his work.
