The Government Abuser's Handbook (Leaked) Somebody leaked the manual. Turns out every level of government in this country is working from the same one. Federal, provincial, municipal. Same steps. Same tricks. Here it is, word for word. ## Step 1: Scare them first Never start with a policy. Start with fear. Tell them the world is dangerous and divided. Tell them there's a crisis. Tell them only you can keep them safe. A scared person doesn't ask questions. A scared person obeys. Ottawa does it with the evening news. The provinces do it with the health system. Your city does it with the bylaw officer at your door. Different volume, same fear. ## Step 2: Divide them A united population is the one thing you can't control. So split them. Left against right. East against west. French against English. Vaxxed against unvaxxed. Rural against urban. While they're fighting each other, nobody's watching you. This is the oldest move in the abuser's book. Isolate the victim. Turn their own people against them. Make them doubt their own eyes. ## Step 3: Take their money and call it help This is the genius part. You don't steal the money. You take it in broad daylight and thank them for it. Federal: a $62.3 billion deficit and $142.1 billion in new spending, and they call the budget "Masters of Our Own Destiny." Provincial: the health system is collapsing, so hand over more money for less care, and if you complain, you're against health care. Municipal: property taxes up again, services down again, and the pothole on your street is still there. But don't worry, they bought new bike lane signs. At every level, the deal is the same: you pay more, you get less, and they call it an investment. ## Step 4: Blame the other level This is how you never get caught. Ottawa blames the provinces. The provinces blame Ottawa. The city blames the province. Round and round it goes. Everyone is responsible, so no one is. The shell game is the whole system. If you can't figure out who's supposed to fix it, you can't hold anyone to account. And abusers who can't be held accountable keep abusing. ## Step 5: Buy the referees You can't run this playbook if someone's watching. So buy the watchers. Give the media $595 million. Pass the Online News Act. Push Bill C-34 to control what people can say to each other online. Call it safety. Call it democracy. Call it anything except what it is. A free press is supposed to be the check on power. A paid press is a press release with better lighting. ## Step 6: Never admit anything The manual is clear on this one. Never apologize. Never admit a mistake. Never say "we got it wrong." They invoked the Emergencies Act against their own citizens. A federal judge ruled it unreasonable. They're still fighting the ruling. The provinces crushed small businesses while the big box stores stayed open. Not one premier has ever said sorry. Not one. Your mayor won't either. He'll raise your taxes and tell you it's for your own good. Admission is the one thing an abuser will never give you. Because admission means accountability. And accountability ends the game. ## Step 7: Make sure there's nowhere else to go The final step. Close the exits. Sign the country into the EU's defence program. Pledge our money to the EU's Ukraine loans. No vote. No referendum. Just done. Sovereignty handed away so quietly you almost missed it. Expand MAID while Canadians can't get a family doctor. The state that can't heal you will help you die. That's not a health policy. That's a system that has run out of answers and started offering exits instead. ## The handbook only works if you never read it Here's the thing about a leaked manual. Once you've read it, you can't unsee it. Every scare story. Every division. Every tax hike dressed up as help. Every blame game between levels. Every bought referee. Every non-apology. You start seeing the steps everywhere, because they're everywhere.
