called the dentist office for my appointment tomorrow and asked if the dentist could wear an N95. the secretary: ‘why?’ WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHY!!!!! it’s gonna be so fun i can’t wait. especially considering it’ll be the first readimask the dentist ever sees and she’ll think i’m nuts

i’m wondering if the readimask on my nose will be enough or if i need an air purifier as well which will make me look even more crazy. if i only breathe in through the nose will the aerosols still enter my mouth?

my mum’s in the train. she texts me that the lady next to her pointed to her mask and asked her if she was sick, to know if she would be too. little does she know she’s sitting next to the safest person in the wagon since nobody else is masking. i can’t with people!!!!

but what about a room where the teacher moves back and fourth across to write things on the board? i typically have my airfanta 3 pro right next to me so i can physically feel the clean air on my face. am i better off without it because its pulling aerosols from other students?

would the best placement be then under the table near my legs (but the clean airflow blocked by the table), or between me and the student next to me (& there’s people sitting across me because it’s a U table formation), but sometimes there’s someone just next to me so i can’t?

teacher who was visibly starting to get sick on tuesday was full on sick and maskless at today’s class. coughing sneezing etc. offered her a mask and thank god she took it even though her viral aerosols probably already had filled the room from her previous class.

and at the same time i’m praying my mask works. turning my head to breathe in the air purifier air flow next to me. windows closed and it’s cold outside so i cannot open. and who knows someone else might be pre symptomatic and even more infectious.

going back into classrooms after 3 years of covid conscious radicalization is not for the weak. all of this so i can get a job (piano teacher) because my dream of being a music performer has been destroyed by this very pandemic.

elderly lady in my music analysis course who gave me and my mask prolonged looks during the first lesson showed up wearing a surgical in the second. wondered if she was just sick but she still had one in the third lesson. might approach her next time to offer her better masks.

so seeing masks does make them think about it. so far the only teacher asking me about my mask was my piano teacher. i mentioned covid related health problems. he said oh i lost taste and smell for a day back in june. but are you really sure your issues are from covid?

people connect the dots. but not enough. they do think about it and they share their feelings and fears about covid with us because we’re the only ones mentioning it out loud. every person i talk to about my covid health issues admit to me they also have covid health issues.

we’ll see how my precautions at my new music school play out during this wave. i wear laianzhis ffp3s, i place my airfanta 3pro just next to me for group classes, + do nasal washes after class & k12 at night. students cough and sniffle a bit. we’ll see. this is the best i can do.

the 3pro on second speed is unnoticeable for a quiet, small group music theory classroom. way quieter than the laminar ones i have. i figure placing it just next to me gives me a bubble of cleanish air if my mask ever breaks seal.
