Today is a mathematical date we won't see again for 78 years. 10/24/26 10² + 24² = 26² It's called a Pythagorean Triple Day. There are infinitely many Pythagorean triples, but only 12 dates this century satisfy the equation.Today is the last. Next one: March 4, 2105.

So basically, today PHP got two critical bugs that let anyone run code on your server without even logging in, which is bad, and then the details leaked before the patch was even out, which is worse, and it works on WordPress and MediaWiki and Magento and Joomla and Laravel, and Censys says like 1.5 million servers are running a version with no fix, so the NSA was like "take your system offline," and the FBI was like "take your system offline," and CISA and the UK and CERT-EU were all like "take your system offline," and then the Prime Minister of Japan, the actual Prime Minister, posted at 5:55 in the morning telling 48.8 million people to take their system offline, so everyone took their system offline, like the Dutch cybersecurity agency took its own website offline, and the Dutch parliament went offline, and the Port of Rotterdam went offline, and Finland and France and Denmark started pulling government sites, and Wikipedia went down, and Archive.org went down, and Asana and GOG and Something Awful went down, and the University of Vienna's webmail went down for some reason, and that's just PHP. Because GitLab also dropped a CVSS 10.0, which is the highest score they give out, for a bug that's been there since 2014, so that's every self-hosted GitLab for twelve years, and then LiteLLM 1.107.0 got hijacked and shipped a credential stealer and a remote access trojan in every single wheel and the Docker images, including latest, and you didn't even have to import it, just installing it was enough, and it's the second time this year, and then Railway paused every deployment on the entire platform because someone got into the environment variables, so now everyone has to rotate every secret they've ever stored there, and TiDB Cloud said someone was walking around inside with stolen credentials for basically a month and an extortion group says they took 10.6 terabytes, and Zeabur got breached for the second time in two months and is just shutting down, like the whole company, and Node.js patched remote code execution and a TLS bypass, and CISA says Plex is being actively exploited, and someone took over 300 Tor exit relays to steal SSH passwords, and SafePay ransomware has hit over 600 critical infrastructure orgs, and India's biggest bank filed a data loss incident, and Japan has been in an official state of emergency in cyberspace since October 9, which honestly explains the 5:55 AM post. Oh, and eMudhra, a certificate authority that's issued over 60 million certificates, whose entire job is proving websites are who they say they are, was supposed to be using private keys that are random numbers over a hundred digits long, and one of them was 4. Just 4. And the others were like 66 and 237. Anyway, it's Wednesday.

‼️ A critical Signal bug could keep your microphone, and possibly your camera, live after you hang up. The other caller can flood the call's event queue so your hang-up is never processed. Dubed CVE-2026-113380 it scored 9.3 and got fixed in September.

What happened to @Revolut is the evidence of what we told the @Europarl_EN in 2022 and 2023, while the AMLR was being adopted: state data requests to financial institutions will be weaponized, because nothing in the rules obliges anyone to check whether the requesting state is legitimate. Our recommendations were rejected in the trilogue by the @EUCouncil and the @EU_Commission . The Commission's AML unit at DG FISMA, called our testimony "false positives". For those who think zero-knowledge tech solves this: it does not. ZK changes what a bank stores, not what it must hand over. @FATFNews rules oblige financial (and not only) institutions to keep passports, selfies and full transaction records and to disclose them promptly to any state request, with fines for delay and none for over-compliance. Whatever they are required to keep, they give away. This is a fault of AML regulation and it must be fixed, now. In the EU, for instance, it can be done while AMLA writes its technical standards and centralises even more data. Back then our evidence was dismissed as „false positives” (!). Now it reaches every EU citizen. Will anyone at the Commission be held accountable for ignoring it? Will it urgently propose remedies and real protections for EU citizens? The remedies proposed by the @oscepa resolution adopted in The Hague in July 2026. Implementation is the next step.
EXCLUSIVE: Revolut has confirmed to BeInCrypto that it handed over customer data after fraudsters sent a fake information request through a legitimate government agency domain. Revolut says the request carried genuine domain credentials, which led it to treat the demand as authentic. The company says its systems were not breached and no customer funds were lost. Revolut has notified law enforcement and regulators, but will not identify the government agency involved.

‼️ A Chinese company used Claude Code to build over 20 dating apps with 4,700 AI personas that held conversations with at least 25,000 users who thought they were talking to real people. The personas were instructed never to admit they were automated and to deflect requests for photos or calls. The backend faked likes, visitors, and video, and kept track of which users had started to suspect. The company mixed real human workers into the same swipe feed, about one for every three AI bots. The workers existed to take the video calls and follow people back on social media, the things the AI couldn't do, so users would stop doubting the app was real. They were paid per message, per call, per follow. Claude handled the personas, with about 2.36 million messages in two weeks. In a few of the conversations Anthropic sampled, people disclosed serious illness or acute distress. The apps also carried a hidden control to evade App Store and Play Store review.

‼️ BREAKING: Revolut handed over customers’ passport copies, verification selfies and full transaction histories to a malicious actor. The actor sent lawful government information-demand emails using a genuine government domain that passed domain authentication. Revolut later concluded they were not authentic. Affected customers were notified on Friday. What may have been disclosed ranges from name, date of birth and home address to account statements, withdrawal records and complete Bitcoin transaction history. The company says it has alerted the agency to the unauthorised mailbox on its domain, blocked the address and begun notifying regulators. It has not named the agency, explained how someone obtained a mailbox there, or given a number of affected customers. ZachXBT, who circulated the notices, believes the incident was limited in size and aimed at high-net-worth users.
