We're deeply concerned about developments in Türkiye re: the treatment of community dogs & cats living on the streets. The ruling coalition plans to introduce a law to allow the killing those who aren't claimed or adopted after a short period of time. bit.ly/4dfuOG1

Meet Douala 🦁, Serenity 🐯 and Zuko 🦓! From tiny cages and dark decrepit barns, to enjoying expansive enclosures full of enrichment activities, these animals have come a long way. Five years ago, our teams, @HSI_Canada and Friends of HSI, were on the ground, rescuing over 200 animals from a roadside zoo in St Édouard with the @SPCAMontreal. The animals were sent to accredited sanctuaries including our very own Black Beauty Ranch in Texas.

VICTORY!🌟 After years of campaigning by @HSI_Canada and coalition partners, Canada has banned the use of cruel strychnine poisoning for killing wild animals. This ban will spare wolves, coyotes, black bears and more from horrific, prolonged, and needless deaths. Together, we can—and are—saving wildlife! 🐺💚  bit.ly/3wQELdj

February’s wildfires in Chile 🇨🇱 displaced and killed thousands of animals. But with your support HSI worked with local partners to provided lifesaving veterinary care to thousands of survivors. Many animals in Chile still need our help and you make it possible to continue the mission.

Thank you! Because of you, our amazing supporters, we turned in 73,000+ signatures ✍️ urging the mayor of Tomohon to end the dog and cat meat trade at the Tomohon Extreme Market as part of our months-long negotiations. After working with HSI and our partner group Animal Friends Manado Indonesia (AFMI), the mayor of Tomohon city has agreed to END the killing of these innocent animals and ban the sale of dog and cat meat at Tomohon Extreme Market. Lives WILL be saved. 💚 Soon, the ban will be in effect. Stay tuned for updates, and we’ll keep fighting to end the dog and cat meat trades around the world – for good.
