If we only teach bible stories to our kids will they truly understand what their faith is all about? @samluce and @hunter_disciple Williams joined @SongtimeUSA to talk about teaching our kids the theological truths in a way they can understand.

I’m so thankful for this conversation on the GotQuestions podcast. We’re praying more leaders and parents grow in their confidence to teach kids the doctrines of the faith because of it!

“He loves Thee too little who loves anything together with Thee which he loves not for Thy sake.” - Augustine
A person loves God too little if they love anything with Him which is not loved for His sake.

Christian hope is not a “hope so” but a “hope in.” It hopes in and rests on God’s word, work, and promises. Christian hope is not a religious gamble or wishful thinking but a confident expectation rooted in a Christ who really came, really died, really rose, and will come again.
With each new child, I have experienced the truth of these verses. Children are a gift!
Is it easy being a parent of four kids? Not at all. But the hard work doesn’t negate the blessing children are declared to be.
I’m so thankful for the full quiver God has given us!
Opal got to help share our last newsletter, so I thought I would have Margot and Clarke join in to announce this one. Our most recent newsletter shares stories of impact, prayer requests, and big life updates! You can read and subscribe at the link below!

There is nothing more important in Children’s ministry than sharing and discipling kids in the gospel. But how do we do it well? In this podcast episode, @samluce and I unpack the gospel message and give the ”do’s and dont’s” of sharing it with kids.

Because of Christ, believers have open access to the Father.
We don’t have to consult a medium or go through an earthly priest.
We can approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16), knowing that the eternal King of glory will love and hear us as His children.
For those of you who teach children in some capacity at church- don’t “ wing it” or shoot from the hip.
It’s an insult to the kids you teach and the God you serve.
Prep, practice, and present the word of God faithfully.
When studying scripture, interpret your passage in light of…
1) its immediate context
2) its historical context
3) its literary genre
4) correlating passages
5) the overarching story of redemption
“How do we form kids in Christ who display the fruits of discipleship in their lives?”

Opal is so cute! I had to find a way to get her involved in announcing the release of our most recent newsletter. Behold, our ministry newsletter poorly photoshopped into a picture of the cutest kid alive.

I had a blast writing this article on discipleship for The Gospel Coalition!

Love this classic hymn:
“Crown Him the Lord of life,
who triumphed o'er the grave,
and rose victorious in the strife
for those He came to save;
His glories now we sing
who died and rose on high,
who died eternal life to bring,
and lives that death may die.”
He is Risen!
When we face sorrow and death, it can be hard to know what to say… especially to kids.
That’s why I’m so thankful for this conversation I got to have with Jonathan Gibson on how to talk to children about suffering.

Christ isn’t a nice addition to the Christian’s life. He is THE life of a Christian. All things are seen through Him, measured in light of Him, and lived unto Him. You cannot claim Christ and live without reference to Him in all facets of life. He’s not an accessory. He’s Lord.
