⭐️ HWS celebrated International Day of Democracy, by welcoming our local MP Yvette Cooper. Students asked lots of questions about her job and issues related to Health & Social Care. ⭐️#localmp #PPF #InternationaldayofDemocracy

⭐️HWS Year 10 students were learning about Democracy today. We held our own Vote in class, for students to vote who they would like to be a Student Council representative. We then enjoyed a game of Democracyopoly, Debating and answering questions about Democracy⭐️#HWS #democracy

⭐️HWS- two of our Year 10 students used their logic and reasoning skills, as well as resilience, to build this amazing remote control Jeep. They then enjoyed spending time testing it out, outside. #handsonlearning #togethereveryoneachievesmore #HWS #PPF

⭐️Two of our Year 10 students used their logic and reasoning skills today to build a fully moving HiWEEGO Lego robot. Students worked as a team communicating and problem solving to get the job done. Awesome work💪⭐️

⭐️HWS Outdoor Education & Learning ⭐️ Students from Year 9 & 10 enjoyed some Outdoor education taking part in some fishing activities at a local pond. Students showed teamwork, resilience and behaved impeccably while out. Great work 🎣#learningbeyondtheclassroom #outdoorEd #HWS

⭐️ HWS Science ⭐️ Year 9 students have been learning about the different parts of electrical plugs, as well as how to wire them. Science but a life skill needed for later in life too. Students engaged and enjoyed the hands on else ing experience. Well done Year 9. #scienceiscool

⭐️HWS Enrichment ⭐️ Students enjoyed participating in a Sushi making activity during Enrichment lessons today. Students worked hard to perfect new skills, whilst using previously learnt skills, to complete the recipe. Awesome work everyone 🍱🍣👨‍🍳🍚

Year 9 engaged in a Water Safety session today. They discussed the dangers of entering open waters to swim. They engaged in discussions about cold water shock, throw lines, beach safety and FLOAT to LIVE. #watersafety #staysafe #openwaterdangers #FLOATtoLIVE @MyWakefield

Year 10 investigated the effect of adding carbon dioxide (CO2) to water. They tested for pH and noticed adding CO2 to water made it acidic. They investigated the effect of acid rain on sea shells, causing a reaction, acid + metal carbonate ➡️ salt + water + carbon dioxide. 🧪👩‍🔬
