The people wanted a tutorial, so here you can get an idea of how to do it. This showcases the process thats good not just for fur, but for anything really. #blender
Stylized fur is a lot of work ! Remember kids, the mesh doesnt have to pretty if it works. #blender

Heres how it looks with an active outline and multilayer math shading applied in unity. Still might change things, but thats about how it looks when its finalized ! Using Poiyomi shadres here.

I think many miss the point i was trying to make with that post, which is that you dont always need ultra optimized polycounts or topology, beacuse how you make a model depends on what its going to be used for, hence the mesh doesnt need to be "pretty", if it works for what its intended, If only you saw some "production models" that are put into games, noone would put these meshes into their portfolios, but from the player perspective there is no difference !

I didnt think it would stir up such a discussion, let me explain some things. Yes, its a lot of polygons, yes, it could be less, no it doesnt need to be. This is not for a game, its a vtuiber model, its made for maximum visual quality and reference accuracy, there will be no performance problems with what its used for. The mesh is like this for interaction with a shader. I made it by hand, no retopo, no baking (what you see is after subdiv applied), because of how the 2d ->3d process works. Fur cards would not look right for what im doing. There is no shader applied right now, what you see is a flat painted texture. I know how optimization works, this is not the place where its needed, and if it was, it could easy be added. I understand people may not know that, or just want to egagement farm so idc about the cheeky qrts, and for everyone that already knows these things and likes what i do, thanks for the nice comments.
