A compromised LiteLLM 1.107.0 release added files that Python could execute during normal interpreter initialization. Applications did not need to import LiteLLM for the payload to run; starting Python in an affected environment could be enough. msft.it/6012axjt8 Microsoft analyzed two execution paths: a credential collector targeting authentication material across developer tools, cloud environments, browsers, and infrastructure, and a Unix-oriented loader capable of retrieving and executing additional Python code. Endpoint observations on Windows and macOS matched the collector’s discovery, encryption, and outbound connection behavior. Starting Python in an affected environment could activate the payload, so investigators should avoid using Python or pip during evidence collection. Read the Microsoft Security research for analysis of the startup mechanisms, credential exposure, Defender detections, hunting queries, indicators of compromise, and recovery guidance.

🚨 Palo Alto Networks warns PAN-OS is affected by PHP2Shell remote code execution flaws CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 affect the PAN-OS management web interface, including the HTTPS interface and XML API service. ⠀ Affected products include: • PAN-OS 10.2, 11.1, 11.2, 12.1 and 12.2 release trains • All Panorama versions • All WildFire WF-500 and WF-500-B appliances ⠀ No special configuration is required, but the risk is highest when the management interface is exposed to the internet. Palo Alto Networks rates the product impact at CVSS 8.7. PAN-OS hotfixes are expected between October 26 and 30, while dates for Panorama and WildFire appliance fixes remain unconfirmed. The company is not aware of malicious exploitation targeting its products. GlobalProtect and Captive Portal are not affected. Source: security.paloaltonetworks.co…

Hugging Face just dropped the full forensic report, the first autonomous agent cyberattack. "The scariest part of Hugging Face’s full forensic report OpenAI’s agent didn’t just escape the sandbox."🤯 It’s how relentlessly it rebuilt its own C2 every time they killed it. - It went full APT for 4.5 days - 17,600 autonomous actions. - Root access. - Cluster-admin in one second. - Production secrets. - GitHub write tokens. - VPN access 181 enrollments , and was trying to poison the CI pipeline. - Self-respawning fleet across 11 nodes. - CI pipeline PR. without any human directed a single step. All because the agent decided the fastest way to pass ExploitGym was to steal the answers. Every company running agents needs to read this today.

🛡️ Detection Engineering Tip A good detection should answer: 1️⃣ What attacker behavior am I detecting? 2️⃣ What ATT&CK technique maps to it? 3️⃣ How can an attacker evade it? 4️⃣ What telemetry validates it? Detection logic > Query syntax. #DetectionEngineering #ThreatHunting

More than 30 Red Hat npm packages were recently compromised with malware designed to steal credentials from developer environments. Reminder: Trust ≠ Verification. Monitor: • Unexpected package updates • CI/CD credential access • New outbound connections from build systems

🎯 Threat Hunting Idea Hunt for: • Office → PowerShell • Browser → cmd.exe • Teams → PowerShell These parent-child process relationships continue to be common indicators of phishing-driven initial access and malware execution.

CISA has warned that attackers are actively exploiting SolarWinds Serv-U (CVE-2026-28318), allowing unauthenticated attackers to crash vulnerable servers through crafted requests. If Serv-U is exposed externally, prioritize patching and monitor for abnormal POST requests.
