ALT Selfie of Bee, a Black person with a shaved head & blonde eyebrows, wearing a black n95 respirator with glittery black eyeglasses, black & grey headphones with a silver chain & black rhodium chain attached, and a textured sleeveless black top over a mesh long sleeve black top. She’s standing inside of the sculpture Joe by Richard Serra and both the steel and sky behind her are slightly visible.

You all know that people weren’t this sick all the time before 2020. You’re just ignoring it because the truth is too frightening.

i would like to live in a society where it would be unthinkable - utterly inconceivable - for people to go to work/ school while sick

White ppl never suffer the consequences of their racism. Yall think time is an apology when it’s really a mirror.
Slayter(?) is from Kirkwood, MO—a suburb of St. Louis city where I live. When she was 16, she did her racism rumspringa bs. When I was 16, a group of yt ppl drove into my yard throwing bricks & yelling slurs bc I protested to keep my hs school accredited. We’re 6yrs apart in age.
They expect to have full immunity from being held accountable for tormenting people all because they “didn’t know better” as teens. Some of us were literally fighting for basic civil rights during the same time in life & being hunted down by them because of it. But she’s SORRY🥺
I just ordered so much paper and before the day is up I’ll have to order more paper more ink more envelopes and wow, I love being an artist, I love that people trade me money for my art because art is one of the only things that kept me alive for so so so long, what a blessing🥹!

“You hate billionaires, but you want to be rich.”
No. I want enough money to live a modest, stable life and be generous with people around me. Not wealth built on exploitation, hoarding, or treating the planet like it is disposable.
No clue how she got away with this at all, for MANY reasons, but I would love to hear from people who consider it good and have them explain to me in detail why and what other poetry they’ve read.
One time I lost my housing and put my stuff in storage bc I was couch surfing. Then my card got stolen, so I missed my storage unit payment & they charged me a 50% late fee then doubled my rate the very next month. It is incredibly expensive to survive when you live in poverty.
At the time, I was homeless. No cell phone, no car, no way to check my bank balance BUT I always budget to the penny. A fast food place accidentally charged me an extra dollar-a dollar that shouldn’t have come out because I HAD overdraft protection. The bank did not fucking care.
This was not irresponsible spending. This was a tired minimum wage worker making an honest mistake on top of the bank glitching and yet holding me accountable for the glitch. So I ended up losing the account because I absolutely couldn’t afford to give them $101 I didn’t spend!!!
When I remember I’m in Missouri I get so grossed out. Recently, my lawmakers tried to make SLEEPING OUTSIDE a felony. The Supreme Court had to step in & be like, “🤨you can’t do that AND refuse to provide any aid for the homeless.” The SUPREME COURT got the ick about my state.😭
Last winter I found out that one of my homeless neighbors has a stoma. There aren’t many public bathrooms around so they were forced to change their ostomy bag in a fucking public park. What are we doing, how are we allowing this in a city where SIX BILLIONAIRES currently live?!!
