I’ve pitched EVORA to 20+ Indian VCs in the last month. A few things that actually get their attention:
1).Warm intro > cold email
Most VCs get 30–50 pitches a day on email, WhatsApp, and Telegram. They prefer warm intros. A few still read everything (like @IIMAhmedabad and @allin_adi - ALL IN CAPITAL). I applied on their sites and heard back in a week.
2.) Kill the AI slop:
VCs can tell when Claude wrote the deck. They see too many. Write in simple English. Take ideas from AI, but design the pitch yourself.
3.)Don’t assume they know your market:
If it’s a new space, educate them. They form their view from your pitch. Use data and story to show it can be a billion-dollar outcome.
4.)Storytelling is the gap :
Most of us (me included) underdo this. Founders should lean into it harder.
5.)Early stage = team bet
Pre-seed/seed VCs look at pedigree and whether you’re a second-time founder. An exit puts you in a much stronger position to negotiate.
6.)Show, don’t stuff the deck:
One line + one visual per slide. Explain the rest live.
7.)Grab attention fast:
Be confident. Open with a sharp question or a light joke so they actually stop and listen.
8.)No doesn’t mean never:
Send monthly/quarterly updates even if they pass. It builds credibility for the next round.
More coming in the thread.

Great energy, great builders, and some seriously exciting conversations around the future of crypto & Web3.

Mental bandwidth is limited, and you cannot fight with it.
Rules to keep in mind:
1. Don’t fight.
2. Don’t push.
3. Don’t do everything.
The idea is:
Try to do 1 or 2 things daily and maximise the weekend.
I wake up and spend 1 hour learning, then I’m ready for the office gym. I can hit the gym in the evening, but I cannot study in the evening due to cognitive load.
Similar for content. I find gaps:
-
Lunch time.
-
Sitting idle.
-
I’ll just get my iPad out, start architecturing, brainstorming, etc.
You need to stop consuming and start creating + reduce your dopamine levels.
I usually stare at a wall for 20 minutes when I feel I’m getting distracted and can’t focus on work.
Small things + efficiency will do the job.
