Nucube 0.12 has been released on September 17: our first open release. Music on an SMB or NFS share plays straight from the share, streamed as you listen. The same app on desktop and mobile.

Nucube is a music player for the files you already own. It reads local folders, NAS shares and DLNA servers, and leaves everything where it is. The same library on desktop and mobile. No Nucube server, no box to buy.

This is particularly true in the world of SaaS! We sucked up so much talent to grind out infinitesimally improvements in, say, expense tracking that could have moved the needle on more ambitious missions.

Meta’s Muse can join your tailnet as its own node, then SSH into machines, check containers, and interact with self-hosted services. The important part: your existing Tailscale access controls still decide what it can reach. buff.ly/NIJgLQi

Replying to @nateberkopec
You are right but it also feels short-sighted? You have the most powerful tool you ever had, you have become a 1000x maker, and you can't think of how to make your stack 10x better? Yes, Rust is fast, the type system catches bugs, but there is so much beyond it. * Why not make Ruby 10x faster? * Why not make Ruby (and therefore Rails) really great at concurrency? * Why not add a banging type system to Ruby that can provide guarantees beyond Rust? * Why not embed SQLite3 into Rails with a replication protocol so you can really compress the stack beyond a single server? * How to preemptively fix most bugs from the most critical parts of Rails, such as database pools? Yes, who cares about ActiveSearch, but there are so many ways we can fundamentally improve our stacks that go beyond asking the agent to just crap out code. Phoenix is still the only framework that ships with presence, because it turns out it is deceptively a hard problem to solve correctly, but somehow all issues are solved? I understand some folks have no interest in doing any of the above, and that's fine, but then at least pass the baton to the people who want to do exactly that. PS: I say all of this with love ❤️

Nobody gets the malleable premise of Omarchy like kids. Why can't it just do this? Why can't we make a new game where all the frogs actually have lasers? Why doesn't look like TRON? Why can't the bar be on the right? Why can't the computer just fix that bug itself?
Learning Omarchy early!

Turbo Pascal was the first programming language I used in school. This was first year of high school. The machines were old, but the clack of the keyboard was good. We honor the giants in Omarchy! Living or dead. Heritage is duty.

The first rule of engagement is never to accept the premise, the second is never to defend against the "allegations". You must reject their tribunal outright.
