Families are paying sky-high prices for gasoline, especially since the war in Iran began in late February.
Over that same time, Donald Trump's personal oil and gas holdings grew to as much as $81.6 million. After the war started, his accounts bought up to $17.5 million more in oil and gas stocks.
This past weekend, he told a crowd that oil companies are making hundreds of billions of dollars off the turmoil.
“I don't give a damn,” Trump said. “We're making a freaking fortune.”
Whatever your politics, most of us believe the person making decisions about war and energy prices shouldn't be cashing in while those decisions squeeze working families.
When the president profits from the same crisis draining your wallet, that's corruption, and it eats away at the trust our country runs on.

The Sept. U.S. trade deficit in goods was $134.9 billion, the highest ever recorded in Sept. There were only three months in history when the deficit was higher, all under Trump in 2025.
Here are the facts. Measured by the size of our trade deficits, Trump has been the worst president in history on trade. The tariffs have been a complete failure. Not only have they failed to bring manufacturing back to the U.S., but the U.S. is now more dependent than ever on foreign producers. Not only are we importing more than ever, but we are now paying Trump's tariffs on those imports.
Trump says trade deficits represent a loss. Judged by his own standard, Trump is the biggest loser in the history of the presidency. Also, if the economy is booming as Republicans claim, why have our trade deficits gone way up? Why are the trade deficits under Trump so much larger than they were under Biden, when, according to Trump, we had the worst economy in U.S. history?
Here are the facts. When you compare Trump's first two years to Biden's last two, GDP growth and job creation are slower, inflation is higher, and budget and trade deficits are bigger. If Trump is right that under Biden we had the worst economy in history, and the Trump economy is objectively worse on all counts, then the Trump economy is now the worst economy in history.

I just watched the video of Mitch McConnell and my stomach turned. My gosh! This isn't just concerning, it's a flipping national disgrace. The man is nonverbal, physically half unresponsive, being moved around like prop. His hands make weak, desperate gestures as his mouth tries to form words that never come. And this is the person who's been steering our country? I'll say it again! He is functionally incapable of serving. We're watching a human being propped up by staffers, a shell of who he once was, all for the sake of maintaining political power. Washington DC isn't a hospice center, but that's how they're treating it, like some extended care facility where the patient is trotted out occasionally to prove he's still breathing. Enough, y'all. This is an insult to every American, and a profound betrayal of the very voters he claims to represent. It's not about age, it's about basic functionality. When someone cannot speak coherently, cannot respond to questions, cannot perform the basic functions required to serve, then they cannot serve. Period. This isn't mockery. Trump is reportedly adding another 7.5% tariff on Chinese goods, pushing the total tariff rate on China to 20%.
And who pays tariffs? American importers, businesses and consumers.
That means higher prices for everything from electronics and appliances to auto parts, tools, clothing and countless everyday goods. Businesses will either eat the added costs—hurting their margins—or pass them straight to consumers.
Calling it a crackdown on “excess manufacturing capacity” doesn’t change the math.
Tariffs are taxes. And Americans are the ones getting the bill.
Another round of tariffs means another round of higher prices, squeezed household budgets and increased costs for American businesses.
Trump promised to make life cheaper.
Instead, just like his casinos, he bankrupted us.
