I’m gonna say this to ya and I’m not being mean spirited. I got into this business at a very early age, and I busted my rear to get as far as I have, but all I ever wanted was a chance to just call ball. I’ve never complained about having the abilities to do both studio work and play by play, but sometimes versatility is a curse. I waited 18 years at CBS and I learned a lot from stars of our profession during that time. Mostly from the older gentleman whose career twilight ignited new life to him when he was demoted to the @SEC from the @NFLonCBS his name Verne Lundquist. He rode a hot wave during a period when the SEC had 7 straight National Titles won by 4 different teams. I was happy for Verne, but remained hopeful and alas FOX is the first Network that hired me specifically for PXP. Brock, I don’t know your story, but I surmise it’s been rough for you. I know this, my work now has never been better and my mindset is right, and many of my younger colleagues I mentored at some point earlier on their careers. I’m not taking anyone’s spot away, and if so ever have an inkling that’s true I’ll be the first to call it a career. Until then, if you actually believe in what you wrote perhaps a better option is reaching out for help as opposed to dissing someone in such a manner. My skin’s plenty thick, but condemning Seniors and women in the broadcasting field has become all to accepted on this platform. I wish you well, and hope you get to experience your career dreams coming true. Other than being a husband, Dad, and Big Daddy B to my grandchildren nothings better! 🎙️🎧🏈🏀
I shot a 75 in a golf tournament today and only hit 4 greens in regulation…doing more with less every time out!
