"Hold my vegan beer" is so funny because this is clearly meant to be some slam dunk own of The Lefties but they don't realise most beers actually are vegan. Carlton says VB is vegan! Sorry if you're triggered!!!

This is great. @AOC understands that the true “existential risk” of AI is not about rogue systems—it’s about AI systems doing exactly what they’re designed to do, thereby eroding our cognitive ability, our agency, & our joy while drowning truth in irrelevance.
h/t @jimstewartson
AOC: AI systems want us to be dependent and outsource our cognition to a machine, and they want us to increasingly rely on AI systems so that they can sell intelligence back to us.
AI needs two things. It needs capital-intensive resources. But it also needs an uneducated population that cannot think, that is not educated, that relies on it so that they can sell cognition back to us.

Core contributor* I literally maintain the entire core of the OS. And maintain all of the infrastructure. And all the cloud images.
Also I directly work on Systemd and all other low level Linux userspace components that all distros depend on.

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

Nothing worse than sitting at home and getting an @auspost notification that someone apparently decided you weren’t home a minute ago.
Any recommendations for where to move my @digitalocean server to? She's lived on DO for 12 years now, but it's time for a change now that they're backing DHH.
Perhaps this is Schrödinger's parcel, simultaneously both safe drop *and* signature required, until the postie checks their app and collapses the wave function?
I am a longtime @1Password user and advocate, but if they don't cut ties with DHH that may be over. alilleybrinker.com/blog/1pas…

i believe "person bouncing ball" is the only emoji you can genderswap by naively reversing the string in js:
tomboy = "\u2640\u200d\ufe0f\u26f9\ufe0f\u200d\u2642"
femboy = tomboy.split``.reverse``.join``
Join my bank and we both get $23 hook.up.me/effy

“We’re all figuring out what the human part is once the machine takes the obvious part away.”
That’s a big reason I’ve been quieter lately I feel. I still enjoy research and digging into malware, but a lot of the work I was avoiding specifically because I wanted to learn it, deobfuscation for example, turned out to be pretty repeatable. So I keep finding myself asking how deep do I need to go on something you can point an LLM at.
So I’ve been spending time on where I want to take my own research. Haven’t landed on it yet, but the question has made me look at things more clearly.
Sorting out what’s automation and what actually needs me has taken me to some interesting places. Tiring ones too.
