.@RobbReport - Sinclair’s lab recently published on the reversibility of aging & restoring vision in blind mice. In Boston, Life Biosciences will begin treating blind patients early next year.
“This isn’t science fiction anymore,” Sinclair says

Did you know age-related CNS degeneration shares a common set of oxidative triggers?
Have you wonder which experimental models should you use to study them? And what is the clinical evidence so far?
Excited to share our review preprint: Oxidative Stress in Age-related CNS Degeneration: Modeling, Mechanism and Interventions
lnkd.in/gEe6SFCE
We discuss how shared exposures—high-fat diet, cigarette smoke, radiation, air pollution, light exposure, aging, and mitochondrial dysfunction—drive oxidative stress across the brain and eye, contributing to AD, PD, AMD, and glaucoma.
We also visualize how antioxidant, rejuvenation-based, and personalized redox-profiling strategies may jointly help tackle these diseases.

Oral resveratrol for 32 weeks given to middle-aged mice reduced skin thinning, reversed the slowdown in skin cell division, reduced enzymes that break down collagen, and ostensibly activated SIRT1 😄

Brain organoids, cultured for over 5 years, have a memory from when they were "babies" in vitro.

% of people who would:
* Try an “anti-aging” medicine: 61%
* Take a cell reprogramming pill: 42%
* Try a senolytic drugs: 27%
* Have blood plasma diluted: 22%
* Swap out their aged organs: 18%
Surprisingly high percentages!

In a world of conflicting health advice, how can anyone distinguish between what’s supported by science and what’s just opinion?
I wanted to build something new. A place where scientists, engineers, industry leaders, and the public come together, where people can understand what the science actually says, and where we move healthcare beyond treating sickness toward extending healthy lifespan well beyond what’s currently possible.
Explore the new Lifespan Magazine. Watch the Lifespan show. Ask scientists questions. Join a global community. And help support research and the next generation of scientists working to extend healthy human lifespan.
I believe we’re at the beginning of a revolution in our understanding of human aging, and perhaps one day, our ability to change it. I want everyone to be part of it.

How can a tree live for 1,000 years?
Lifespan recently visited Shunkaen Bonsai Museum in Tokyo, where world-renowned master Kunio Kobayashi preserves trees that have been cared for by generations of bonsai masters
Their longevity may come from something trees do exceptionally well: renewal
A centuries-old bonsai is not made entirely of centuries-old tissue. Its leaves, roots, bark, and vascular tissues are repeatedly replaced. Plant stem cells, found in regions called meristems, continue producing new growth throughout life
Research on ancient trees suggests these stem-cell systems can remain active for centuries, supported by powerful repair and stress-response mechanisms
That may be relevant to human longevity. We also depend on stem cells to renew blood, skin, muscle, and other tissues. As we age, that regenerative capacity declines
Bonsai do not preserve every old part. They preserve the ability to renew. Perhaps this is due to epigenetic stability that preserves stem cell function – at Tokyo-to, Japan

Interesting! The Psoas muscle is one of the most important muscles, holding our upper & lower halves together. Yet, 1 in 2 people lacks a Psoas minor
Whether you have one or not, get a standing desk! It will strengthen your Psoas major, giving you better stability at any age
