AI is making software radically easier to create and rebuild. Yet the cloud beneath it remains complex and fragmented.
What if this is our chance to rethink the foundation itself? AI-driven software on a unified cloud protocol.

#ICP is the premier cloud.
A sovereign, holistic, smart cloud.
Not the cheapest. Not for everything.
But for software that truly matters. For individuals, enterprises, governments, and AI.
Cloud as a protocol, at Internet scale ☁️♾️
The crypto custody has never been solved for the masses before @oisy came along. It is a novel network-custody wallet - a golden way between centralized and self-custody. It solves the foundational problem by building on a new type of cloud. #ICP ☁️

Crazy to think this was before AI 😀 and before Dfinity aligned their marketing and product with CLOUD
AI makes the root/ foundational problem more exposed and removes the learning curve of building on a new cloud stack

🔴 This diagram explains the ICP thesis IN ONE COMPACT IMAGE
@integral_wizard created it 3-4 *YEARS AGO* and unfortunately the brilliance of this image won't be realized until 2030 (maybe a little earlier)
**The L1s that survive are debatable and interchangeable** (assuming any survive)
Eerik was banned for the last +12 months bc this scam platform bans people (even if they pay for premium) for no reason and simultaneously promotes scams and false information 24/7/365
I remember highlighting this diagram years ago when I was still banned on here
***This entire analysis is VERY simple at its core*** hence the brilliance of this image
Its just the market and social media propaganda that convinces people otherwise
The only add-on here (now in 2026) would be including AI. Web2 vs ICP. Which is probably too much for one image given all the specific technical issues on Web2.
BigTech wont disappear. They will still dominate the future Web. They will still be "BigTech" - just with AI. Not cloud computing. (imo)

I've been thinking about sovereign cloud software for years. More recently, I've started ramping up on building.
Introducing subnet.ee — a sovereign cloud initiative built by EFTI on the Internet Computer (ICP).
The recent explosion of AI-assisted, clean-room open-source software gave me an exciting opportunity. Seeing what @echelon and the @get_artcraft community have been creating in Rust and WebAssembly, I wanted to explore what happens when these tools meet a new cloud foundation.
So I brought seven ArtCraft creator apps to ICP. They're already running, with cloud storage and a working ICP MCP integration that lets AI agents interact with the cloud.
It's an early demonstration of two converging ideas: sovereign cloud and Open Source → Open SaaS.
And this is just the beginning.
The current implementation runs on ICP's public network, but the intended architecture goes further:
Cloud Engine — a more flexible, economically viable sovereign cloud foundation.
User canisters — dedicated storage and greater individual control.
ICP blob storage — economical storage for larger files.
I'm hoping to advance these pieces over the next 3–6 months, as the underlying infrastructure becomes available.
It's still an open alpha, but I'm sharing it now because the purpose goes beyond delivering a useful set of applications.
subnet.ee is also a signal to Estonia's engineers, creators, institutions, and government: we have an opportunity to fundamentally rethink how software is created, deployed, owned, and experienced.
And a nod to @SwissSubnet (subnet.ch), whose work helped inspire the name and sovereign cloud direction.
AI-driven software at the top. Protocol-driven cloud at the base. ☁️
subnet.ee
Fascinating.
I'm especially interested in open-source photo and video editing. Kudos to @echelon for all the work and really well-structured projects for my experiments. I'm hopeful he can get close to feature parity/ stability with professional tools.
Naturally, I'm keen to extend it with #ICP sovereign cloud.
Here's my first shot, PhotoCraft on ICP, extended with cloud storage. This is on mainnet and not a feasible storage model, but with upcoming blob storage and/ or cloud engine, this, and much more, can work.

The golden way between self-custody and centralized custody is the "network custody", only when the entire software is hosted on "network cloud".
