To get you an idea of how crazy the tech industry was before 2020, I’ll tell you how I got my first internship working at Deloitte as a CS student at Carleton University I attended Hack the North in 2018, I literally had a 30 min chat with a tech partner at the firm, we vibed, he liked that I played music He told me I’d get a “golden ticket” which meant you just skipped the entire recruiting cycle straight to the final interview in person at their headquarters in Toronto Take that in, companies had entire hackathon recruiting teams. I did the final interview over the phone about a month later, we chatted about what I was interested in, I told the interviewer I knew my react and JavaScript well etc And two days letter I got an offer.
