something has been bothering me lately and i kinda wanna talk about it some of you might disagree with this, and that’s totally fine, i’d actually love to hear different opinions i keep getting messages from prediction market projects asking for collaborations and it’s almost ALWAYS the same pitch “we’ve built a new prediction market terminal, we’d love for you to promote it, and we can give you higher referral commissions” guys, can we talk about this? you’re asking a creator to promote an unknown product that barely differs from the platforms people already use for $0 upfront and somehow the higher referral commission is supposed to make it an attractive offer? but why would anyone even sign up? why would someone stop using Polymarket or another established platform and move to yours? especially now, when prediction markets aren’t getting the same hype they used to a higher referral commission means nothing if there’s no reason for people to use your product and this is what bothers me the most with paid content, at least there’s a clear exchange — i spend my time researching your product, figuring out how to present it and creating something interesting around it but with referral-only offers, you’re asking me to take all the risk my time, my audience, my reputation and hoping that somehow people will convert i respect builders, and i know there are genuinely good products being built in this space but i wish more teams would focus on creating something people actually WANT to use a terminal that makes Polymarket significantly better, or a platform with enough advantages to make switching worth it not just another version of something that already exists if you’re asking me to promote your product for $0 upfront, at least give me a reason to be interested in it maybe i’m being selfish here, idk but some of these offers genuinely make no sense to me.
