The tl;dr here is that @cooprecsmusic (CR) are using @boost_xyz to reward mints of its tracks. This manipulates @soundxyz_'s algos into further boosting them via its viral chart.
A 🧵 on why @Cooopahtroopa's defence of this practice is disingenuous & how it's harming web3 music.
Something sinister is happening on @soundxyz_
I noticed this comment under a post about my latest drop.
Seems legit, right? Except the track is 4 mins of drone, with no discernible melody 😂
At first I just thought this was funny, but then I dug a little deeper... 🧵
if i don't use words, then each sound goes unheard 🌊

for my first web3 grant ever won, it was important to me to put some of the $ into artists in the @iridescentwave community.
enter iridescent wave: remix party (first wave), a paid Pride remix contest that @reinasalti won 🌈
and enter the first i-wave original music onchain 🌊

reflecting lots on how a little genuine support -- financial, technical, emotional -- can go such a long way.
i think i'll soon write a follow-up blog post on this @iridescentwave Pride remix contest + drop w/ @Celo. for now, creating w/ @reinasalti !💫
