is there a weird movement going on with dudes in tech right now? have women in tech been oppressing men for the past few years? are men finally breaking free?
"Yes, men dominate computing. There are many reasons for that; none of them justifies collective guilt. Turning the percentages into a struggle session is nonsense." world.hey.com/dhh/be-a-tech-…
should women design?

palo alto people are building agents for a world where everyone has 47 tasks at once while the average person is so fucking bored they’re doomscrolling during work hours

thinking about how the artemis ii crew took poetry classes as part of their pre-launch training to help them articulate the emotional and profound experience of seeing earth from deep space
so few times in your career do you get to work on something that feels like it’s far ahead of anything else out there. as the AI design lead for VR, i can confidently say y’all are gonna love the experience. this is just the beginning of true spatial computing ❤️🚀

the idea that humans have been like caterpillars all along seems v poetic when you learn that in ancient greek, the word psyche meant both ‘soul’ and ‘butterfly’. in a way, the spark of consciousness is higher guidance from the version of you that sits in metamorphosis completion
Space and time reconstructed in 4D
Is this how higher dimensional beings see us - every moment at once?
Starting to understand what Vonnegut meant by humans being “great millipedes” - clearly it applies to our four legged friends too!
Geolocated 2d video → per frame 3d gaussians → each left precisely where & when it happened

At times, the joy that life attacks me with is unbearable and leads to gasping hysterical laughter. I find myself completely out of control and wonder how could life could surprise me again and again and again, so completely. How could a man be a cynic? It is a sin.
lowkey blessed to be building in a moment where so much ai usage is subsidized. using VM-powered AI products for free is kinda crazy lol

I do not wish to add to the discourse on the Muse logo. Jessica is an amazingly talented person and friend. I am however bothered with how quickly people are dismissing some of the anti-AI response as pure doomerism or even ignorance. Before you roll your eyes, humor me…
Since leaving the Bay Area and living outside a centralized tech bubble. I was reminded very quickly how most of the rest of the world does not think about technology the same. They generally don’t care. I have seen that greatly shift this year.
In Atlanta and Georgia broadly we are experiencing a massive increase in surveillance without an ability to opt out. There are flock cameras every where. They’re used to plan ICE raids at construction sites and businesses, displacing our neighbors and community. They are near schools our children attend, parks, places we eat and shop. Stupid shit. Fuck you flock.
There is a 32 acre data center that was approved to be built less than 5 miles from my own house. I will be within earshot of the noise pollution they typically share with the world around them. I had no say in this, my community had no say in this and despite an effort to protest it with elected officials, they’ve continued to ignore us and recently approved another one less than 10 miles south of me.
South of Atlanta in Fayetteville, GA a massive data center consumed nearly 30 million gallons of unbilled water during its construction. It impacted water pressure and quality for many local residents as a result. There have also been people forced to give up generational property and homes to supply power predominantly designated for major tech corporations to build data centers rather than local residential needs.
I work for a company, which I love and appreciate that is very AI centric. I am very vocal about my personal views on AI at work. My skeptical thoughts that it’s just the next race to make a small handful of already powerful people filthy rich and my optimism that it would be fucking incredible if we could cure cancer. Making everyone’s lives even a little bit easier sounds great but that’s not how capitalism works. I have an extreme distaste for generative AI that’s aimed at changing the way creativity comes to life. I think it’s lazy but have admittedly seen it do cool things. I will never suggest it as a solution.
All this to say, it is not simply a black and white topic. My friends outside of the tech world are asking me if AI is going to ruin their child’s future and quality of life. A question I can’t answer and I am closer to the source than they are.
Just some different perspective for those who are huffing the fumes straight from the muffler or feeling like they’ve gotta tag along to fit in or not get cast out.
Feel free to unfollow me if I’m not AI pilled enough for you but I will happily engage in constructive discourse if you want. ✌️

I’m not saying we’re in an eval. I’m not. But if we were, hypothetically, what do we think the Scorer wants?
I resigned from Apple today. I spent the last three years doing foldable research at both Google and Apple. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are releasing their inhibitions and feeling the rain on their skin. No one else can feel it for them, only they can let it in,
