On this New York matter, some of our people should just express condolences and leave it there. Some of the attempts to diagnose causes are just not it. May sound smart but really are not. Slippery slope.

I clocked how insensitive Ghanaians were after they turned Castro's drowning into a running joke.
It's a kind of cultural and civil backwardness you just can't help but be ashamed of. Kurasisɛm ankasa.

That 50km/h makes no sense. They probably copied the 50 from a jurisdiction where their metric unit is miles instead of kilometers.
Everything we want take do lesson. Smfh
This should teach us that not every city or neighbourhood is suitable for raising children. At some point, I question Javits Frimpong’s father’s decision to raise his son in the Bronx, where the crime rate is reportedly high and gang activities remain a concern in the neighbourhoods. As parents, we must be mindful of the environments in which we raise our children. Otherwise, they risk being exposed to violence, drugs and a life of crime. I hope the Government of Ghana intervenes and offers the family the necessary support during this difficult time. May we all learn from this tragedy, may his soul rest in peace. 💔 🕊️

I love this format because it was made by some Irish tech bros that can’t imagine American tech bros don’t actually drink. Then every video just reinforces the stereotype that these guys are weird.
Sam Altman would like to see cost per GW drop from $70 billion to $20 billion:
"I think if that number were 20 instead of 70, we should be much happier. We should still demand to get 10x better performance out of it with smarter models every year."
"Why do we not want that number to be as small as possible? I am pro deflationary technology."
"Even to get down to 20, you are getting into the realm of energy's got to get cheaper. But certainly, all of the gross margin stacking that happens between melting sand, or the equivalent of melting sand and getting the token back, a lot of that's got to get compressed."

You will think she is exaggerating, but guyyy, working in an unstructured organisation will test your sanity.
Today, the instruction is A. Tomorrow, it is B. Nobody knows who is responsible for what, and somehow, you are still expected to deliver exceptional results.
You will start questioning your competence when the real problem is the environment you work in.
Never underestimate the value of working somewhere that has clear processes, defined responsibilities and a proper system for getting things done.

Dude who caused the DRAM shortage is now scolding people for hoarding memory inside their own laptops instead of giving it all to him.
sam: local inference is a terrible allocation of scarce resources
“a lot of people want local inference, and somehow they assume that the problem is solved now because we have open-source models, we're going to be able to run them on our computers, and so we're not going to need all the stuff in the data centre
but from a global allocation perspective, actually it's quite terrible to have everybody, like, have a bunch of the world's limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer and being used five percent of the time
you want maximum utilisation in the cloud if you're trying to deal with this very supply-constrained environment
somehow many people's intuition is the opposite of that”
