A funded company reached out to me offering a $200K–$300K founding design role.
Multiple interviews. Positive feedback. A project proposal. A start date agreed.
Then they disappeared.
Weeks later, I found out they'd hired someone else.
No update. No heads-up.
Is this normal now?

Eventually, I reached out to another executive for clarity.
Shortly after, the CTO finally responded.
He said he was no longer involved in the project and believed they'd gone with another designer.
When I asked about the original role, I was told that had been filled too.
That was it.
I completely understand that companies change plans and choose other candidates.
That's not the issue.
The issue is agreeing on a start date, letting someone prepare for weeks, and never communicating that the plans changed.
A simple message would've been enough.
Designers and founders, is this normal?
