Vegans when a coworker tries to start a debate about veganism:
I’m so sorry to see a 7 year old child has to eat baby animals because the parents eat baby animals
If vegans force veganism on their kids then meat eaters force meat on their kids. All parents “force” their kids to do what they think is best
Most kids grow up loving animals but also eating animals, mostly animals tortured in factory farms, they never got a choice
At least a vegan child isn’t “forced” into that
Most decent people: “Don’t force feed ducks until their livers almost explode because rich people want to eat foie gras”
Jose Andres: “Well then we’ll have to ban vegetables too, think of the children!”
Discussions on animal suffering really turn some people’s brains to mush
9 out of 10 food ads promote animal products, animal agriculture lobbies the shit out of governments to push their products, and they pay millions for PR to hide their animal abuse
It takes a strong mind to look at all that and say “no thanks”, but more people are doing it every day
Veganism is a conspiracy created by a British joiner in 1944. His name was Donald Watson, and he worked with a team to create veganism, a movement designed to make everyone respect animals.
They want you to give moral consideration to other animals, not just the pets you have in your home. They want you to live healthily while avoiding animal exploitation. Wake up before it’s too late.
“They’ll be cruel to animals anyway so might as well pay them to do it” is a bad take
Plus, one person CAN change it because it’s not just “one person”, it’s a thousand “one persons”, a million, a hundred million
Removing support hurts their profits and forces change
Lot of people defending the tiger are mad at people who think the tiger should've been shot
Respect the compassion, but where is that energy for all the animals suffering in factory farms?
Some people will find this post funny even. What did pigs, cows or chickens do to deserve such cruelty?
I've been vegan for 16 years. This is the strangest thing people say to me and I hear it at least once a month:
"If everyone went vegan farm animals would go extinct, vegans want extinction!"
Break that down:
"I want multi-billion dollar industries to keep breeding billions of emotional, sensitive, genetically modified, disabled animals in captivity (mostly factory farms). I want us to continue objectifying and mutilating them, and hiring low-income and migrant workers to slit their throats in slaughterhouses, because I just can't handle the thought of those poor animals going extinct"
I just spent 2 weeks debating veganism with students in the USA, almost every debate went like this:
Or,
The student says they agree with us
We ask if they're going to change
They say no, they can't, because they like how they live right now too much and don't have the willpower
Everyone has said at least once "I could never do that" before making the change
"I could never stop eating meat"
"I could never give up cheese"
"I love eggs too much"
It feels impossible until it doesn't
Don't turn away from the animals, don't ignore what they have to go through just because someone "really likes the taste"
Remember, they did nothing wrong, but they're punished for our selfishness
