Pk-K went to the Arctic this week and made music about an ice king, snowman and a polar bear. When we got back “home” we warmed up with Stephanie Leavell’s “Nice Warm Blanket” then took a relaxing rest under it! My sweet babies love to create! #risdweareone #flabuiltforthis
Just the best 3rd grade scholars crushing their C Pentatonic scale work. #flabuiltforthis #RISDWeAreOne #elementarymusic #musiceducation
1st grade hand signed it, sang it, played and sang it, student led it and rocked it. Their amazingness never ceases to amaze me! #specialsteachers #specialsteachersmaketheworldgoround #risd #risdbelieves #flainsync

I hung out with 6th grade today in Art where we learned about Justin Favela- an artist known for making large-scale installations and sculptures in the piñata style. I can’t wait to see the kid’s finished display! 🪅 #specialsteachersmaketheworldgoround #risdbelieves #flainsync

Governor Abbott, if you have any decency, you will immediately withdraw from this weekend’s NRA convention and urge them to hold it anywhere but Texas.

We are at a point where medical resources are stretched to the greatest extent they’ve been during the pandemic, and we need your help to make sure that health care capacity isn’t overwhelmed so everyone needing care can access it.
Part 2: Kiddos figured out that music games should;
-be purposeful
-have an objective and clear rules
-need materials
-have clear instructions
I am amazed by their work and #google slides knowledge. Kids love it. All I did was facilitate. #risdgreatness #doverbetter2gether
♥️
Part 1: 4-6th grade have spent the last two weeks creating games for their classes to play. They started with a thinking map, we walked through each step, what they needed and how to make each activity purposeful in the music classroom. #risdgreatness #doverbetter2gether
I love this teacher's idea for helping students: donorschoo.se/e/HfWaHrNMNfb via @donorschoose

Today’s verdict shows that there is good in our world. I have always viewed education as a type of ministry and it is through an equitable, inclusive and unified education system we can make a difference. We have a way to go but I am all in. Let’s unite! #BetterTogether – at Garland, TX
