My grandpa. He was the only one of five siblings to survive. He hid in a closet with them before forcibly moved to the Krakow ghetto. While doing forced labor in a Nazi airplane factory, he helped rig planes to fall apart in the air. He was liberated before they found out.

Eight years ago today, 11 Jews were murdered at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh for doing nothing more than practicing their faith. They had come for Shabbat morning services, and a gunman who wanted Jews dead walked in and opened fire. To this day, it remains the deadliest antisemitic attack in American history.
Antisemitism is one of the oldest forms of hate in the world, and when it turns violent, families and survivors are left with a lifetime of unimaginable grief.
Even so, the families shattered that day turned their pain into purpose. As we speak, the synagogue is being rebuilt as a memorial and museum dedicated to fighting the very same hate that took their loved ones.
May the memories of Joyce Fienberg, Richard Gottfried, Rose Mallinger, Jerry Rabinowitz, Cecil Rosenthal, David Rosenthal, Bernice Simon, Sylvan Simon, Daniel Stein, Melvin Wax, and Irving Younger be a blessing.

Eight years ago today, we suffered the deadliest act of antisemitism in American history when a killer entered Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh while people prayed and murdered 11 of our neighbors.
It’s been 2,922 days since the attack, but the pain still lingers in our Commonwealth. Today we offer prayers of comfort to those touched by this violence.
Let today be a moment for action, remembrance, and resolve to combat antisemitism in all forms.
May the memories of Joyce Fienberg, Richard Gottfried, Rose Mallinger, Jerry Rabinowitz, Cecil Rosenthal, David Rosenthal, Bernice Simon, Sylvan Simon, Daniel Stein, Melvin Wax, and Irving Younger forever be a blessing.

On October 27, 2018, 11 Pittsburghers were senselessly killed in an antisemitic attack while worshipping at the Tree of Life building in Squirrel Hill.
We continue to stand with the families, survivors and the Jewish community and are committed to eradicating hate in every form.

In honor of National Pumpkin Day, Bibi, Fiona, Tucker and Fritz enjoyed one of their favorite treats! 🎃
Tomorrow is 8 years since the massacre of Jews at Tree of Life synagogue and I can’t help but recall how the Penguins wore Jewish star patches in support.
It’s blinded bigotry not knowing or caring that this language creates a permission structure for anti-Jewish hate.
nothing better than seeing an army of 22 year olds with Sidney Crosby pfps who freebase Nazi & Soviet propaganda on TikTok crashing the fuck out in the QTs because their team doesn’t share their “morals” of hating Jews
