EUROPE AFTER AMERICA The US is cutting off all aid and intelligence assistance to Ukraine in order to pressure Ukrainians and other Europeans to accept an agreement on Russian and American terms. The US is not necessarily our enemy yet, but we must understand the following: 1

The situation in Poland is much simpler than all the talk of a “coup” suggests. PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński’s party, which backed current President Karol Nawrocki, refused to recognise three lawfully elected Constitutional Tribunal judges back in 2015, together with then-President Andrzej Duda. Those judges were Roman Hauser, Andrzej Jakubecki and Krzysztof Ślebzak. PiS installed its own picks in their seats: Henryk Cioch, Lech Morawski and Mariusz Muszyński. Even after the Tribunal confirmed that the original three had been lawfully elected, PiS and Duda refused to respect its ruling. They put their own political interests above the court’s decision. Yes, the previous PO–PSL coalition had also broken the rules by electing two additional judges before it was entitled to: Bronisław Sitek and Andrzej Sokala. But when the Tribunal ruled against those appointments, the coalition accepted the decision. Borys Budka even apologised on behalf of PO. PiS never complied with the ruling concerning the three lawfully elected judges. That difference matters. One side accepted an unfavourable ruling. The other refused to obey it. The court’s membership changed over the years. Cioch and Morawski died in 2017 and were replaced by Jarosław Wyrembak and Justyn Piskorski. Muszyński’s nine-year term ended in December 2024. Other judges’ terms ended too. Seats became vacant, and new judges needed to be elected. Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal judges are elected by the Sejm, the lower house of parliament, for nine-year terms. Donald Tusk’s governing coalition currently holds a majority there. That majority has the constitutional right to elect judges to fill those vacancies. PiS losing its parliamentary majority did not give it the right to block that process indefinitely. The Sejm elected eight new judges. President Nawrocki accepted the oaths of three: Magdalena Bentkowska, Dariusz Szostek and Sławomir Patyra. But he refused to accept the oaths of the other five: Krystian Markiewicz, Maciej Taborowski, Marcin Dziurda, Anna Korwin-Piotrowska and Maciej Berek. They eventually took their oaths without him present, formally addressing them to the president. The oath is required by law. But it does not give the president a personal veto over parliament’s choice of judges. He is required to accept their oaths. The Tribunal itself ruled on this back in 2015. In October 2026, the Venice Commission backed that interpretation and supported allowing judges to take their oaths without the president physically present if he blocks the process, provided the necessary formalities are followed. Yet the leadership of the very same Tribunal where PiS had unlawfully installed its own judges refused to let the new judges do their jobs. The court’s president, Bogdan Święczkowski, insisted that they could not serve unless they took their oaths in Nawrocki’s presence. The president blocked the normal procedure, and the Tribunal’s leadership used that blockage to keep them out. On October 30, Anna Korwin-Piotrowska announced the temporary suspension of Święczkowski and his deputy, Bartłomiej Sochański, and assumed leadership of the Tribunal. Lawyers dispute whether she had the legal authority to suspend them in that way. That specific step deserves legal scrutiny. It does not erase the obstruction that led to it. I support Tusk’s efforts to end this obstruction, and I don’t buy the claims of a coup. PiS does not get to unlawfully install its own judges, refuse to respect court rulings, and then demand that everyone treat the situation it created as untouchable. Tusk is right to push back. Judges elected by the Sejm should be allowed to do their jobs. The president has constitutional duties, not a personal veto over the court’s membership. And PiS has no permanent claim to Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal.

Amongst all the embarrassing statements of Rutte, this one is completely and immediately disqualifying. He invents a new section in the treaty stating that NATO is there to provide a platform for US power projection in the world beyond NATO. This is intolerable.
Tapper: Do you agree that NATO countries, some of them, were tested and failed? Rutte: Some of them, yes.

#FreeLuisma ‼️ URGENT Cuban artist and political prisoner Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara was threatened with death on March 27, 2026, by officers of State Security (Section 21) during a prison visit. They told him that if there were a military intervention in Cuba, they would come with an AKM to kill him. Luis had begun a daily 12-hour fast on March 26, scheduled to end on March 31. Following these threats, he decided to escalate and began a full hunger strike today, March 30, which will last until April 6. He will only drink water. This is also a way to warn against a new maneuver by the Cuban state to avoid releasing Luis in July of this year, when his sentence is fully completed.

We must stop treating politics and law as a soap opera.
Poland under @donaldtusk is asking the right questions by treating the Epstein material as a national security problem, not a celebrity scandal by asking: •who benefited • who had access •whether kompromat was gathered •which states may have exploited it In UK for decades Russian-linked money entered elite spaces, reports were written and shelved. Inquiries in Britain are too often used to close down scrutiny and scandal to make people keep calm and carry on.

Amazing moment on French TV. A French judge explains how Trump sent people from the US Embassy basically trying to intimidate her during Le Pen's trial for embezzlement - something they've done to other judges around the world My English sub-titles 👇

If anything remotely like this was even considered in Norway, those responsible would be considered Quislings and never be able to show their faces again.
J.D. Vance said 40% of the people calling into the Social Security system were committing fraud. That’s a lie and they’re using this misinformation to burn the system to the ground. 3 things you need to know 📽️🧵👇🏼

The United States is the richest country in the history of the world. Of course we have a trade deficit—we will always buy more from other countries than we sell to them. That's what happens when you’re wealthy: you consume more. The only way to “fix” this would be to make Americans poorer. Maybe that’s been the plan all along.

This is evil. Terror as deterrence. A complete collapse of the rule of law that is meant to scare everyone in the US: “This is what Trump is prepared to do. Dissenters, beware.” cbsnews.com/news/what-record…
The Trump administration sent Andry and hundreds of other people with NO CRIMINAL RECORDS to El Salvador because of their tattoos. NONE got any due process. No judges, no hearings, not even any notice ahead of time. This is a stain on our nation.

Rasmus nails it. When the degenration of democracy reaches this point, how can it be restored? Something similar happened in Germany, and they could only exit the condition after a total breakdown. But the world cannot afford a total breakdown of the USA. The stakes are too high.
Is this normal in your countries? A president that continues to lie even if he has been corrected a hundred times on these numbers. In Denmark, people dont like being told lies. Voters punish it. Why do Americans accept and vote for it? I dont get it.

It's a proxy war allright. The US is a proxy for Russia, Ukraine a sacrificial lamb thrown to the wolves with international law.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has acknowledged that the conflict in Ukraine is a proxy war between two nuclear powers, the US and Russia, "and it must end." The Secretary of State made this important statement with a cross on his forehead - a sign of Ash Wednesday, the day of the beginning of Lent in the Latin rite of the Catholic, Anglican and some Lutheran churches. On this day, in accordance with ancient custom, believers make the sign of the cross on their foreheads with blessed ashes.
