Happy New Year's Eve! I have a suggested resolution for #EduTwitter. Stop posting on X! Link in reply but summary is: - X isn’t compatible with professional ethics; - You are in a horrible information environment; - There is a collective action problem which needs solving.

This has chilled me right out. Absolutely magical, and a complete album that makes me nostalgic for a time before playlists. Gorgeous. open.spotify.com/track/0pBhB…

Can't wait for this release tomorrow. As I crawl to the end of a ten week half term, I'll be listening to this lying on the sofa with my headphones on, ignoring any and all questions, queries or requests.

Please have a read of this survey report, if you're a parent, grandparent, employer, elected representative, citizen. You can have your preconceptions about teachers, I know they abound. But you have to ask: who would choose this career currently? think1265.org/

If this is the much-welcomed 'PPA at a time and place of the teacher's choosing', it's a bit....watery. Not that it applies (yet?) in NI anyway.

Heard a harmonica in the corridor near my classroom today, that's a first. It made a brief but audible appearance in the room just before break and then after break I was shown a video of a beautiful rendition of Piano Man on piano and harmonica. Love a wee surprise in the day.

My parents let me watch this in 1985, after they had watched it in 1984. I remember some discussion between them as to whether my sister and I were old enough (13 and 14). Choosing not to watch again.

Hotdogs £19-£22 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A big name chef called Jason Atherton opens a hot dog stand at Harrods. I go. It’s truly awful. An insult to the very notion of hot dogs. So that’s another reason not to go to Harrods. This week’s restaurant review. theguardian.com/food/2024/oc…
