10 July 2000. Commons considers amendments. The final comment by an MP before the 2000 Terrorism Act becomes law is by @MikeGapes, replying to those concerned the Act will be applied in future to "non-violent direct action." No such thing, he tells the house, will ever happen.

hello @northernassist, my AirPods case dropped out of my pocket on carriage 57114 and appears to have fallen into this portal to another realm / hole in your train … is it lost forever or is there any way of getting it back? :(

A panto actor who has trodden the boards for ten decades has finally put it behind him aged 100. Great-great grandad Harvey Kay received a standing ovation for playing the Royal Equerry in Cinderella on Saturday. 📝- @jackfifield

This is the West Coast Main Line, the UK's primary route from London to Scotland and the north of England. Without HS2, there are no plans for climate resilient sustainable infrastructure linking the UK north-south into the middle of the century.
⚠️ NEW: Major disruption between #MiltonKeynes & #Rugby ❌ All trains suspended through #Northampton due to severe flooding caused by the River Nene bursting its banks 📲 Please check nationalrail.co.uk for journey info @LNRailway @AvantiWestCoast #StormBert

It is interesting that Borough has a network of heavy transport arterials running over it, and it is still one of London's most beloved and flourishing neighbourhoods. Hard to imagine the same being true if they were motorway flyovers rather than railway viaducts.

It's good that we did this! Ecology is very important! The FT isn't necessarily complaining about this, but lots of people love to complain about impacts on one hand and costs on the other and never realise that you get one without the other.

Yesterday, I was speaking in a debate at Westminster and talked about how amazing the Marple Locks were, and suggested that making them a World Heritage site would be a fitting tribute to them. This morning, it was trending on the BBC’s top UK stories: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly2…
