RIP David Moulton, who carved out a helluva career as a spotter. He stood next to Gary Danielson every Saturday and @TroyAikman every Sunday and Monday. When I asked which nuggets were his, Moulton said, “Spotters don’t want to take credit for anything." theringer.com/2020/09/14/nfl…

Would someone pay for me to take the Roadrunner to Albuquerque and pay for me to eat at their Cheesecake Factory? It sounds like America desperately needs me to weigh in definitively on whether the decor is tacky and their food sucks, but we don't have one in Santa Fe.

Blood and soil nationalism. Literally anti-American.

When the government queries a massive database for a small amount of responsive data, what exactly is "searched," constitutionally speaking? The whole digital haystack? Just the needle? Courts are divided. I offered my take in this recent article: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.…

Round one of “Hagler vs Hearns” is undoubtedly the greatest opening round in boxing history. This should be posted here once a week. I don’t care how many times I see it, it never gets old.

Journalists have the right to publish classified documents from CIA or any other agency. They do so every day. There is nothing illegal about it. It's the basis for many of the most important journalistic exposés. Neocons like this should stop trying to erode core US liberties:
Did @DropSiteNews knowingly publish illegally obtained classified CIA intelligence? On October 5, the outlet co-published Aída Chávez’s story claiming a secret CIA assessment warned Israel could descend into civil war. That date is now in an FBI leak affidavit🧵

This is an immensely clear exposition of the relations among compression, prediction, and intelligence made even a bit more lucid by comparing their unification to Noether's linkage of other seemingly disparate notions. 3quarksdaily.com/3quarksdail…

The sloppiness here is insane. Call your source right before accessing classified material, they fundraise off publishing it, then group-edit the story in a Google Doc with the source who’s allegedly your romantic partner.
Replying to @KaelanDC
DOJ says Brinksman worked as a CIA contractor. “As alleged, Brinksman reached far outside his own duties to obtain some of our Nation’s most closely held secrets and handed them to a romantic partner he knew intended to publish them,” said DOJ national security chief John Eisenberg. Brinksman is charged under the Espionage Act. The allegations have not been proven. Full DOJ release and affidavit: justice.gov/opa/pr/us-govern…

I asked Claude how much it would have taken to develop Econvitals pre-coding agents. It's answer: a team of about 50 people working for three years with a budget of $20 million. Is this correct or too high? I'm not sure. econvitals.org/about/before-…
