I got to do a fun wide-ranging @NewYorker interview.
It covers everything from my new Massey Lectures book The Age of Insecurity, my unschooling childhood, updates from the Debt Collective (@StrikeDebt), and even my years on the road w Neutral Milk Hotel

Parts of Pakistan are over
122 ℉/ 50 ℃ right now. Let me break it down;
Our bodies maintain an average 97-99.5 ℉ temperature in heat and cold. When the outside environment gets so hot that your body can not sweat to maintain equilibrium it starts going into shock

Really interesting to me that so many people who read this story have reacted with "those rich people (not me) are the problem"... but on a global scale earning more than $38,000/yr puts you in the top 10%. And if you earn more than $109,000/yr, that's the global top 1%.

Joy as an act of resistance during KBJ's confirmation hearing.
When we say #ProtectBlackWomen & support Black women, we mean what Sen @CoryBooker did for Judge #KetanjiBrownJackson today. It was a welcome reprieve from the guttersnipe filth coming from Republicans & a reminder that #BlackJoy is an act of resistance.

Been flying over the north pole annually for 10 years now, never seen crevasse like the ones I saw two days ago:
It hurts to see temperatures rising abruptly to such extremes at the poles. It's natural to want to look away.
As humans alive right now, we're uniquely positioned to take action.
Let's courageously face this head-on and do everything in our power to stop burning fossil fuels.
It’s 40°C (70°F) above normal in eastern Antarctica.
30°C above normal in the Arctic.
From both poles the world is screaming.
How many more 'historic' headlines before we #ActOnClimate.
