For example: the mayor of Jersey City can leave public service for a higher-paying job as a business lobbyist in a neighboring state!
This is a warning for NYC as well - People can resent the wealthy, but the math doesn’t change: a small number of taxpayers fund a large share of the system. The “tax the rich” soundbite ignores how mobile people are today. When they leave, the ripple effects go far beyond taxes - philanthropy, investment, and hiring tend to follow where people live.

.@jake_ephros and @JoelBrooks4JC just became the first democratic socialists elected in New Jersey in more than a century.

nobody who says things like this is worth listening to. DSA is not only good, it's the largest US socialist organization in two generations and almost certainly the last best hope for the left here

I’m running for State House District 43.
We’re building something real:
* Real teachers, not AI bots

I personally detest karaoke and would rather clean my bathroom than endure it so I'll be missing this one, but that's just me; the rest of you should go support our excellent DSA Jersey City council candidates @jake_ephros & @JoelBrooks4JC on the basis of this amazing art alone
