Today on reddit someone with obvious faecal loading symptoms improves from a bulk laxative
Any idea how that can happen @DrRebeccaRyan shouldnt bulk make faecal loading worse?
I get MCAS reactions to the qualitative fit test mist so I havent been able to properly fit test. No idea if my FFP3 actually protects. I very rarely go out though so risk is as low as it can be (unless I rent a portacount machine for much $$$$)

I am bedbound with #longcovid so I'm rarely out in public
I wear FFP3 to go out, taken by stretcher
Anyone who comes into my room masks. There are FFP2s hanging on the doorknob. Also I mask and there's a HEPA or open window
Healthy people masking want to avoid becoming like me

Today's installment of MICROSCOPY: making the invisible visible since 1590!
Watch the immune cells (white balls) zipping around until the blood pressure cuff gets to a high enough pressure to stop the flow, and how quickly they come back!
Last few months I've been MCAS reacting to WATER. I'm still able to have 3lt/day drinking 3 sips at a time. The other day tried 4 sips but was getting headaches/tinnitus/chest pain so back to 3
Having water at the same time as my yogurt seems to make reactions less bad, weird

We’ve been blown away by the response to my interview with @BBCSport & @KatieFalkingham , thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to read and engage with it ❤️ millions of views across multiple platforms really is immense.
We have since written to @andyburnham , calling on the @UKLabour government to fund research into this horrific illness. I know there’s so much more we could say, but with limited capacity, we’ve tried to focus on the lack of funding, resources in the NHS and how much it’s actually costing the government.
As you can see on the slides, it has been drastically underfunded compared to other illnesses and it is currently costing the UK Government far more than it would cost to fund research. ME is most often a post-viral illness. Therefore, since the start of the Covid pandemic, we’ve seen cases increase drastically and they will continue to increase. We need funding into research urgently. With estimates of people with ME being around 1.35 million, this is a lot of lives destroyed.
I’ve had thousands of messages on multiple platforms since sharing my story so please bear with me ❤️
Thanks to @ThereForME_UK and @wecrunchme for the stats.

Get a big wooden board with arm-sized hole cut. Patient inserts arm thru hole so they cant see. In control group their PICC line is fiddled with and flushed but no large saline going in
Replying to @mediumwhite
How would you do the RCT? What would the C be? I don’t disagree with the idea but surely the reason there is no trial is because Saline is usually the control?

Guess how many people wear condoms?"

⚠️COVID IN ENGLAND
The temporary lull in Covid cases is most definitely over.
PCR positivity has soared in recent weeks & is now up to 7.26%.
Everywhere I go, I hear a cacophony of coughing…
…and my kids’ classmates have been dropping like flies with ‘mystery’ illnesses.
The PCR positivity map is out and there's been another significant jump in positivity both in England and in Scotland.
Testing is increasing but more slowly than needed: ~15k in England, 4K in Scotland.

As Professor Yazi Ke explains:
“When Covid infects our brains, the brain cells start fusing together into these giant multi-cellular structures and that causes a lot of brain functions not to happen.
“In different individuals, the virus can affect different parts of the brain.”
Ok I got one
Q: There was a competition for who could lay in bed the longest, what kind of prize cup did the winner get? A: Atrophy
"Let's make giving all our ID information a requirement to go on social media"
153 MM drivers licences hacked. Half the US population.
I really recommending reading this.
In summary, a company which does ID verification for in-person interactions (hotels, car rentals, ID verification for alcohol or marijuana, etc) has some how exposed over 153,000,000 drivers licenses for people in the United States and Canada.
It is a catastrophic data breach, probably one of the worse I've ever seen. If you're in the United States and have traveled, gotten a hotel, purchased marijuana or alcohol, there is a high probability you're in this.
Unlike other breaches, this includes a photo of the person (from the license), making verification you've identified the person significantly easier.
This poses a significant threat to celebrities (musicians, YouTubers, streamers, adult entertainers, actors, etc), politicians, lawyers, wealthy people (CEOs, investors, people of public interest), Law Enforcement Officers, etc
Krebs himself, and several other security researchers, have already confirmed they're in the data leak.
tl;dr gah damn dawg this company is going to be sued into oblivion

A personal note after the 2026 Amsterdam ISLC-PAIS Conference.
Since the conference, my inbox and DMs have been overflowing. The vast majority of messages have been incredibly supportive, for which I am very grateful. There have also been difficult questions and criticism, and occasionally some less pleasant messages.
I see a lot of anger now about a few comments made by researchers that can certainly be described as unfortunate. But I also want to put that in perspective. In the months leading up to the conference, we were confronted with an enormous amount of harsh language on X, emails and accusations, some of them simply untrue. I don’t say that to excuse anyone’s words or to start comparing who behaved worse. I say it because I think the last few days have demonstrated how quickly positions harden online, while an actual conversation can suddenly reveal that the intentions on both sides are very different from what we assumed.
X is particularly unforgiving in that respect. Complex issues become a few sentences, emotion takes over, and people read meanings into words that were never intended by the person writing them.
