Almost every single person I've spoken to in real life supports how Keir Starmer is handling this situation; even people that really REALLY don't like him generally. The media have got this spectacularly wrong, and Keir Starmer has got this spectacularly right.

Britain’s military plight could never be reversed in 18 months. It is the consequence of decades of neglect of which the British right were the prime architects. As their bile pours on Starmer’s head the rank unfairness, hypocrisy and disowning of responsibility is breathtaking.

Literally EVERYONE wants the ultra-rich to pay more in taxes — left, right, blue-collar, white-collar, high earners, low earners.
It's the rare issue that actually unites people. And yet it doesn't happen - funny how that works, isn’t it?

Our television licence fees are supposed to fund an impartial BBC. Not a blatantly partisan rightwing populist 'news channel'.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.
No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

What if I told you that a single income once provided a home, a car, and a comfortable life for an entire family?
One shift in the economy made sure that would never happen again.
Here’s how they used feminism to double the workforce, slash wages, and turn two incomes into a necessity🧵

The richest 1% of people in the UK are worth £2.8 trillion. Tell me again why a Labour government needs to cut benefits for the disabled and the poor.

Putin has been at war with the West for years. This is what comes from Western leaders (not Ed, not Eastern Europe) hiding their heads in the sand, also that Trump is a Kremlin asset. Europe must take this as seriously as Hitler's threat. Not 3% GDP. 5-10%?

Spain built a 385.9 mile high speed train line from Madrid to Barcelona it cost £8.1bn.
The UK is still building a 140 mile high speed train line which will cost over £100bn.
Who is stealing all the money?
What’s the point of the Labour Party?
This is shocking. The long-term sick will be required to look for work and many will see their benefits cut under a radical overhaul of welfare being drawn up by ministers

Five years since we left the EU and not one tangible benefit to have come from it.
Most telling of all is how it has diminished our ability to generate wealth and thus provide for our defence and public services in challenging times. Far from getting rid of red tape there were 41 million customs declarations to be made for trade between the U.K. and EU in 2023. Not surprisingly over 16,000 SMEs have given up exporting to Europe and our goods exports are rising at the paltry rate of 0.3% per annum compared to the OECD average of of 4.3%. Margaret Thatcher helped create the Single Market in goods and services because she could see clearly the boost it could give to our economy and it bore fruit. Until reality dawns for our politicians we are back to the 1960s-constant failing initiatives to boost growth, stagflation and impoverishment. We deserve better and it is within our power to get better. But that means abandoning the politics of fantasy.

Yep. 👍👍
Denmark has a new king, the King and Queen get approximately $500,000 from the Danish Government a year, and the whole family is worth $40m.
In the UK King Charles gets $150,000,000 a year and his family is worth $25bn.
We need to be more like Denmark.
