Today, on the 35th anniversary of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988, my office formally apologized for its past role in the deprivation of Japanese Americans’ civil liberties during WWII.   The suffering caused by these actions is incalculable and the moral injustice is undeniable.

I believe in a future where we’re not held hostage by catastrophic threats. It’s up to us to create it, and today you can take the first step with people around the world by folding and sharing a paper crane. Please join me! #CranesForOurFuture

The installation has virtual reality as its centerpiece, a technology that can easily feel like a stunt. But not here. Glenn Kaino deftly weaves it together with traditional painting and sculpture in unexpectedly challenging ways. latimes.com/entertainment-ar…

🙏🏼🌟🇺🇸 Thank you, @josie_huang for coming to the show that inspired you to put on your work hat and tell these stories here...To visit the AI exhibit of Lawson Sakai and stamp the 'Ireicho', please visit @jamuseum ! This is American history. Of all of us here in the US.
Replying to @josie_huang
History is fast disappearing as these nisei veterans die, so archivists have been finding new ways to tell their stories. Through AI, you can chat with a hologram of the late Lawson Iichiro Sakai who fought in the almost all-Japanese American 442nd combat team.

one thing I’ll hold particularly close from May was reuniting with @frankbuckleytv nearly 15 years after meeting at @AAJAla Trivia Bowl! His generosity, honesty and encouragement taught college me a lot about the importance of mentorship 💙✊ #HapaPride instagram.com/p/Cs-F5nTL5R9/…
Great experience with ⁦@StephenNelson⁩ and ⁦@JonSooHooPics⁩ at Dodgers Stadium this week for our ⁦@KTLA⁩ #aapiheritagemonth special airing in May.
