Snow, sleet, and rain were all hitting at once, and this was the 2026 storm everyone in Maryland was panicking about. Instead of sitting inside, I fired up my John Deere 1023 with the Yanmar diesel and got to work plowing through it.
Come ride along as I clear snow, battle slush, and see how the tractor handles real winter conditions. If you’re into snow plowing, diesel equipment, or just want to see how this storm actually played out, this one’s for you. Maryland snow, real conditions, no hype.

The fan in my 2003 Chevrolet Silverado stopped working on all speed settings. One of the most common causes? A bad blower motor resistor.
In this DIY series, I’m replacing the blower motor resistor and showing just how easy this repair can be. If your Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban, or other GM truck has lost one or more blower fan speeds, this could be your problem.
This is Part 1 of the repair. Follow along as we diagnose the issue, replace the resistor, and see if it fixes the HVAC blower!

A lot of resistor failures are caused by a weak blower motor drawing too much current. Replace just the resistor and skip the motor, and you'll be back doing the same job in a year. Worth checking motor amp draw while you're in there.
Just caught a breakdown of the 2026 Victoris LXI CNG - interesting mix of pros and cons on that one. Nothing beats discussing cars and coffee style, check my profile to see the videos #carsandcoffee #automotive
Blower motor resistors fail in a predictable pattern: you lose the low speeds first, high speed works last. That's because high speed bypasses the resistor entirely. If your fan only works on max, the resistor is already dying.

Do you do your own basic vehicle repairs or draw a hard line somewhere? Curious where people actually stop and hand it off to a shop.
Your truck's fan works on high but nothing else? That's almost never the blower motor — it's the resistor. Cheap part, easy fix, and satisfying to diagnose. Walked through the whole thing here: youtu.be/Rg9cF8AcIJA
What's the most satisfying cheap fix you've done on a vehicle? The kind where the part costs $12 and the dealer wanted $400 labor?
My 1985 Mercedes-Benz W123 Turbo Diesel is STILL FOR SALE! Why isn't anyone buying this legendary German diesel? 🤔
With approximately 196,000 miles on the odometer, this classic Mercedes is a reminder of an era when Mercedes-Benz built cars with durability, engineering, and longevity in mind.
The W123 is one of the most iconic Mercedes-Benz generations ever produced, known for its rugged construction, timeless styling, and famously long-lasting diesel engines.
Just realized how quiet the cabin gets when attempting a tight parallel park - cars and coffee meetups are genuinely the best for swapping these relatable driving moments. Check my profile to see the videos! #carsandcoffee #carlife
Blower motor resistors fail so often because they live in the airflow path and still run hot. When the blower motor starts drawing more current as it ages, the resistor takes the hit first.
Truck fan only works on high? That's almost always the blower motor resistor — a $15 part most shops will charge you $150 to swap. Walked through the whole fix. youtu.be/Rg9cF8AcIJA
If your HVAC fan works on high but not on low or medium speeds, the blower motor resistor is almost certainly dead. High speed bypasses the resistor entirely — that's why it's the last setting to go.
How many small car or truck repairs have you actually done yourself vs paid someone else to handle? Be honest.
Just heard someone call it the GRWM car and now I can't unsee it 😂 These creative car nicknames are why cars and coffee is the best community. Check my profile to see the videos #carsandcoffee #carhumor
